TephraMOD V5.10
#573
Hi Tephra, sorry to jump into your thread - not sure where I should have posted.
I tried to send you an email but probably got it wrong!
Could you tell me if it is possible to add a "valet mode" to the Evo7 GTA Rom? Or better still, "map switching"?
Many thanks
Nathanial
(Obviously donations will be made)

I could be over looking something and I'm happy to do what ever I can to figure it out. I could see the tip-in being tuning, I don't see how the hesitation issues would be tuning related, for me anyway.
I went from the 94170015 rom on the wiki download page to the tephra patched rom. Only changes from "stock" rom at first was the idle RPM. I'm running low boost and the car runs WOT without any knock so I haven't bothered tuning the car. It's just part throttle that is the issue.
No tip-in knock on the stock rom that I was able to datalog, tip-in knock on the tephra rom before and after the changes to try and eliminate the knock. No hesitation on the "stock" rom, hesitation after the patched rom.
I'll see if I can snag a few datalogs from the patched and unpatched roms. It could even be some form of mechanical noise doing it. Without the knock light feature on the Tephra mod, I wouldn't even notice the retard and it literally only sets off a knock count of 1 for 1 sample on a datalog when it flashes the CEL. (which is odd because I have the light set to a knock count of 2).
Just to be clear though, I'm not blaming anybody. Just trying to offer feedback on a free patch (elective donation) for the factory ECU that I find very helpful. I definitely don't mean to blame tephra for any issues. Just going off this little guy.

I am having the same issue. My tuner flashed the car to the 0015 rom and applied the 5.10 patch as well, and I am having random tip in 5-6 counts.
I am hoping this weekend I will be able to log some more and see if there are any tell tale signs to why this is occurring. At last check the AFRs where low 11s and timing is extremely conservative.

Just curious did anyone experience a gas milieage decrease?? I swithed from Tepra 5.0 008 MUT rom to a Tephra 5.10 015 MUT rom and my mileage went south? Just to clarify there are no exception to certain map values when copying over data correct? As in you transfer EVERYTHING from old rom to new.
TIA!

ok I changed the RPM address as listed above and it did fix the Boost RPM limit table but I am still experiencing low MPG and while partial cruizing my AFR's will still dip and stay in 10.0 till I back off the gas. I never had this issue before with 008. Last night I doublechecked all my tables and I did transfer ALL of them over.
Any help greatly appreciated!!!

Well I FINALLY remembered to bring my laptop with my on my commute to work to record the low load knock I have been getting. Maybe someone can see something I dont? I added a link below the image for the Evoscan file so anyone can look at it in a graph or in Excel.
