TephraMOD V5.10

thats exactly the problem. It's not normally wired anywhere since the model for that rom had no clutch switch, hence no ecu pinout for it. Am I missing something?

tephra..no dice . the only 8 ecu's that have a clutch switch are USDM and the EDM 260. both of which use pin 43 that doesn't work. to make matters worse pin 43 on an 8MR, the original source of the 009 rom, is the crank angle sensor. in addition, i've been in touch with BarryC over on mlr and he's tried several pins for his customers to enable NLTS on the 8MR 009 rom with no success either. any thoughts?

they are quite different. but remember i'm actually flashing a 3 plug rom, 8MR 009, on to a 4-plug ecu, USDM 8. i originally tried going with a USDM 8 rom but it threw too many codes i couldn't resolve. i'm sure the clutch switch would have worked in that case. *pin 43 is the crank angle sensor on 8MR 009 rom.

8-260 4-plug

Have you tried 9653 or 9005? These are the roms that commonly have no problems moving across applications. At least for DSMs we had big problems with all of the USDM roms. 9653 worked well for us but threw a few minor codes that needed to be taken care of with periphery bits.

just to confirm are you listing the first 4 or last 4 digits of the rom id's i should try, and are they tephra patched.

tephra,

Probably the easiest way to find out which pin works is to get the actual memory address from Tephra that he uses for the NLTS code. You can then change one of the MUT table entries to log that particular memory location he uses in evoscan.
Then it's a case of starting the car, leave evoscan running whilst logging the chosen location and ground out each spare pin in turn to see which one alters the logged value.

NLTS and all other Tephra "stuff" works great on my 94170015. I have not tried the conversion like others though.
I am about ready to make the switch. Just have to port over all my "tuned" tables.
