Question 36 counts of knock...scary!

Ok.. Here's my situation...
I just got some (264/272) cams and new timing belt stuff done and got a mail-in flash, but just driving around, I get some MAJOR knock sum counts, mostly around the 2-4K rpm range.

I cannot figure it out if it's phantom knock, possibility of downpipe hitting center diff, after timing belt maintenance, OR if it is actual knock. Maybe someone here might have some experience with this, but I'm just trying to do some research.

I attached an excel file of a test run I did... let me know if you have any ideas.

get it to check out asap. It's also pulling timing big time. No matter what is the reason, your car is knocking badly.

Looks like its partial throttle knocking. During that log, you did not go WOT, right?

Send me your ROM and I will make the modifications for you .

Ok if it's partial throttle knock, wouldn't it be all over the board and not just in the same rpm areas?

I was also told that 36 counts is not possible to reach at cruising. Is this true? The car drives ok and pulls hard but you can tell when the ecu is pulling timing and the car bogs. I'm kinda worried about driving it at all. This is why i'm trying to see if anyone can see a pattern here that might give an idea of what's going on with the car.

Prior to the timing belt maintenance and the cams being installed, the car drove fine and had zero knocksum.

Switch back to your stock ROM and see if the knock subsides.

I would also recommend doing a boost leak test as I have seen small leaks cause excessive knock just like your log shows.

what do you mean by this? are you talking about the timing marks on the timing belt maintenance? we double checked it and made sure they lined up. If the timing was off... wouldn't the car run really ****ty and show more knock at other rpms, etc?

While you are here, Mellon, i have a newbie question for you...
I'm looking at the ecurom and I notice that the load % on the fuel and timing maps do not match. The fuel map has 10-100, 120, 140, etc till 260 but then the timing map has 0-60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 160 so forth, then up to 300. The 70 and 90 columns were missing.

Is there something wrong with that or is that a common thing to do on an evo8 map? Just wondering...

sometimes a cam is advanced when not lined up properly and can cause knock but it'll run "ok" just down on power due to timing pull from the ecu picking up knock.

usually my fuel/timing loads/rpms are matched

As mellon said, whoever re-scaled the maps didn't do the same rescale on them both. Kinda odd thing to do honestly...

Nevermind who the tuner is, I don't want to start any flame wars with anyone. I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with what the log has shown. So far, I got a short list to check out.

downpipe on center dif
check timing marks
check for boost leaks
maybe new knock sensor(?)
etc.

Hopefully one of these things will at least let me know what's going on. any other ideas, please post them.

Probably something mechanical. Also since the person who "tuned" the car didn't match the scaling on timing/fuel they probably also didn't re-scale the Boost Enhancement Advance table. Might also be useful to compare that table to stock.

Looked at the map and what you suggested... and saw that these tables/maps below are GRAYED out... not available.
Boost Enhancement (Anti-lag) Table
Boost Enhancement Enrich/Enlean (Anti-lag) Map
Boost Enhancement Adv/Ret Map 1 (Anti-lag)
Boost Enhancement Adv/Ret Map 2 (Anti-lag)

Should my face look like this --> ?
