That's just about right, isn't it? 14.7 is where you want to be ... I read that on a forum somewhere.

(yes, I'm kidding.)

Yea but thats only if you want to make max power. If you want good gas milage you should lean it out way more....like 20:1 should be good.

Either I am extremely unlucky and my fuel pump shiat the bed AGAIN or the E85 cleaned my system so much that the fuel sock and filter look like a 60yr old smokers lungs now.

Will know in the next couple days...

Either way I am amazed the car isn't knocking with 14.8 AFR @ 26psi

hows the EGTs doing? looks like you have a healthy car if it can hang at that AFR LOL. let us know what caused the lean condition!

That's what I would be concerned about. I am still amazed at what I was able to do with E85 on my car AFR wise. The stuff just doesn't seem to want to knock anywhere near as bad as 93. Worlds different.

Its too bad my EGT gage was always broken when I was tuning my E85 so I could have a reference. I am going to make sure it is working when i finally get my car back together. Man, it's been almost two months since she went down. Yipes.

But, 9.5:1 compression on a fully built motor now should be very fun.

The filter theory is definitely a possibility. I have no experience, but have always read that E-85 will clean your system very well and clog up your filter, so you should replace shortly after converting.

Did you have your previous pump fail on E-85? I'm still debating the switch and just want to gather as much data as possible.

I've been driving my friend's Evo on E85 for the past week. His EGT is actually a hell of a lot cooler on E85 than mine is on 91 octane.

Top of 4th gear only gets up to 1150-1200* range on E85. My 91 octane Evo gets up to 1450* at the top of 4th.

I know, I know this is two completely different tunes by the same tuner but gives you an idea of E85's cooling abilities.

Previous pump failed after 50k miles, no E85 ever went through it.
