Question Evoscan cable or Tactrix 2.0 cable?

Noob questions for some one who is learning the basics of tunning. So i have an Evo X and I want to tune it but there doesn't seem to be enough software or hardware to my understanding. I've hear people got a hold of the USDM Evo x rom but where do i get that or how? also I saw that Tactrix has the Open Port 2.0 cable kit that is suppose to work on the X, but then Evoscan has their own

"EvoScan 2007-2008 Mitsubishi/Subaru ELM327 CAN Protocol USB Cable
Supports all 2007/2008 CAN Mitsubishis and Subarus and U.S. OBDII vehicles since 1996-2007, and all elm327 software. Includes support for CANBUS vehicles
If you don’t need CAN protocol support and you have a vehicle such as Subaru/Mitsubishi/DSM/3000GT do not use this cable, use the specialised OpenPort 1.3U Datalogger/Reflashing cable instead."

so which one do i need for what? I thought the Evoscan was just a logger? also do i need to install a WB02, like NJ1266 said on his "how to tune an Evo" sticky, on an X? thanks guys

I'd get the tactrix 2.0, it has the whole logging capability and all.

I would get the Evoscan cable for the time being as you can log and flash with that.

As of right now the tactrix 2.0 doesn't have any logging capabilities only flashing.

But you have an Evo X so the argument is invalid as you WILL need the tactrix 2.0

LOL, your argument sounds conflicted.

note* I didn't realize the logging wasn't available yet. I thought that was the major benefit.

I'd get the tactrix for future logging once supported without the laptop. Also I don't know if there is any difference since you have a X with the evoscan cable, but you should contact them directly for the answer, IMO.

Did you end up learning how Tactrix works fairly easily?
