Yes it is also knocking if I rev the motor up also, seeing about 9-12 counts.
any ideas? Maybe something sensor related?
I too have this issue and see knock counts in the 36 range. There are no abnomal sounds or vibration, compression tested within spec, and there are no exhaust rubbing issues.

Today, I started testing the newly found knock table show above and it has been successful in eliminating the effects of drasticly pulling timing due to high knock sensor readings at these low load levels.

I have no issues with knock at any higher load levels (a.k.a anything above 120).

ok dudes - now that jcsbanks has done some wunderful works on the knock routines is this patch still needed?

I am just trying to finalise changes in V6 so I can get to work on testing and what not

I don't think it is something that is needed so much now, but as you have done all the hardwork, it would be nice to have the option for a little more flexibility imo

I wouldn't favour (favor) bolting on modifications to quite a clever sytem that already works well and is now configurable.

So John - you are confident that phantom knock can be cured now?

Looks like there isn't a need for this mod if that's the case. I prefer it that way, V6 is starting to get a bit out of hand hehe

We can tackle it with the noise thresholds by RPM, and the load thresholds by RPM. If these can't fix it, I don't think it can be fixed.

I'd prefer that it was condensed into one tepra ROM to keep it simple

Chris, you're asking for Tephra to rewrite the knock control routines to do something they do already, or are you just asking him to add the definition information to his xml?
