Hamish, I sent you a PM about the navigation unit.

Mine locked up, any of the rest of you have one and some advise? Turns on, but once it is to the main screen with the icons on it, it won't do anything. It makes the "clicking" noise when you touch the screen but it will not do a darn thing. I've tried resetting it, taking the battery out and "rebooting" it. Nothing. It was working on the way to work, got in the car after work and it was simply locked up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Often asking questions here in a public forum is helpful, since if the solution is provided then it is also available for everyone else to find later via searching. Be aware though that it is also possible to submit a support ticket directly: http://www.evoscan.org/helpdesk/index.php?a=add

odd thing, I've got an EVOX coming this morning for some tune development work and I figured I'd try 2.6 b14 on my 8 with the 2.0 cable to make sure everything is working. In Evoscan I have Open port 2.0 checked and Mitsubishi Mut II (if that matters) and I'm getting an error "OpenPort2 USB Cable Not Responding". I opened Ecuflash 1.41 and it shows at the bottom "Openport 2.0 com 3" which is accurate according to device manager. I tried to read the ROM but get an error "j2534 error unable to open device", "unable to connect to vehicle interface".

My 1.3 cable works fine with Ecuflash 1.41 and Evoscan 2.5 and 2.6 b14 on my 8. Do I have a bum 2.0 cable? I've used it before on some 8's with 1.41 but it's been awhile.

Socal rally, thank you, didn't know about that. I've had great luck with getting ahold of him here via PM's. I sent the ticket. Thanks for the link.

Mellon, I had quite a few problems myself. When I started using the Beta14 the logger then worked (compared to the Beta12).

I'd go to the thread Tephra has going right now, seems they have a bunch of patches and such going on that are working well. I have to do the same thing. Good luck.

Its not locking up, just the menu icon needs to run the .exe file from the sdcard. Perhaps you took the sd card out of the slot. the sd card has the EvoScan software on it. remove the sd card and reinsert it. or perhaps you deleted the EvoScanPPC folder or you deleted the EvoScanPPC.exe ?

And theres no point referring to EvoScan as "they" I am just one person, lol.
Sorry, lol. I am used to software companies being comprised of many programmers I guess.

I wish David, but my cable doesn't work with ecuflash either...that's what most disturbing because it used to.

I was play with my spare ecu at my work bench.

now i get some error codes because nothing is connected to the ecu.

eg. P0135 front heater

thats normal. check engine light is on.

but sometimes i get error codes with evoscan, without any Pxxxx number, then no check engine is on.

just. knocksensor, vehicle speed sensor, injector curcuit, fuel pump relais.....

whats the two differen kinds of error codes?

i get it on every evoscan version, don't seems to be a bug.

evo4bmad, the car is in the slot, I had taken it out to update the maps...the ones that were not in it.

It is installed now and I have tried re-installing it numerous times. I just pulled the SD card out and put it in my laptop. EVOscan is still on it and so is the .exe file.

There is a little yellow switch on the SD card, I have installed the SD card with the yellow switch in both directions too.

Nothing, I am sitting here right now trying to get it to work and it is simply locked up it seems.

Yes, tried resetting it too. I've let the battery run down completely dead to try to get it to reboot. I think it's going to make a trip overseas for trouble shooting soon. haha
