Are stock injectors sufficient?
This is one of my first posts around here, but I recently came from the DSM world where I had 3 different DSMs, 2 of them running 12's. Anyway, here is my current setup on my EVO:
-HKS 272/272 cams, ARP studs
-Stock turbo
-3" HKS exhaust
-ETS FMIC
-Upper/lower IC piping
-Megan exhaust mani
-PTE 1000cc injectors
-255 pump
-afx wideband, profec b, defi gauges, ect...
-ECU Flashed initially by jestr at 22psi
-evoscan/ecuflash
When I log, my injector duty cycles are peaking at around 65% which is hard for me to believe... Due to the difficulty I'm having tuning with these 1000cc injectors, I was thinking about going back to the stock injectors. I've talked to a few guys who do not want to tune with my injectors, and say to just put the stock ones back in.
I have limited knowledge with ecuflash (I used to use dsmlink), but I can't get my car to run right especially in the cold before it warms up. It will often stall too at low rpms, and have trouble starting when warm. I even had to go through and pull some timing and add fuel all over since I was getting knock counts at around 10 past 5500rpm.
Basically I need my car to be drivable, with the best tune possible. So is there anyone who can actually tune 1000cc injectors so my car runs like it should. OR should I put my stock injectors back in and have someone tune me then. I don't want to do this if my duty cycles are going to be above 90%. My plan was to get a nice tune by someone, and tweak myself from there as I learn more.

Also, I've gone in and just added fuel and took out timing in different areas because it was running very lean ( 13.8 at WOT 5500rpm+). I have to feather the throttle at low rpms when its warm cause it always wants to stall from idle. On a warm statup, I have to start at WOT to get it started. I just have a feeling that I should start with a good map to begin with, and go from there.

it sounds like you just need a good tune...there's no reason you can't use those injectors. Just make sure you don't have any vacuum/boost leaks or exhaust leaks that can throw off the tune.

On start up the car is in open loop and going off the actual fuel table and the scale/latencies, after warm up it's in closed loop and the fuel trims can help if the scale/latencies are way off.

at 22psi on octane gas, you pry could go back to stock, but you would lose alot of power and you will pry max them out!!! a good tune will do wonders!!! ALOT of people use 1000cc injectors so no reason you shouldnt be able too... If it is available to you use E85 it will do wonders!!!

Yes, I've tried to correct the injector latency based on what I found some "master spreadsheet" says to put for PTE 1000cc's but that just made my car not run at all. My current latency is:
4.69 - 3.624
7.03 - 1.992
9.38 - 1.344
11.72 - .984
14.06 - .744
16.41 - .576
18.68 - .456
Current scaling: 886 cc/min
However the excel spreadsheet posted I found somewhere in these forums said to use:
7 - 2.186
9.4 - 1.281
11.7 - 0.771
14 - 0.458
16.4 - 0.283
18.6 - 0.172
How would I be loosing power by going to stock injectors? The only way I can see that happening is if I am maxing them out and need to run less boost.

The last I looked, my low fuel trims were 12.6 and my mid fuel trims were -7.7. I was messing around since then and got the 12.6 to go down a bit, but the mids would go down as well.

Thanks, that helped a lot! After many hours of driving and tinkering I was able to get my fuel trims to almost zero with my pte 1000cc's:
voltage latency
4.6875 3.312
7.03125 2.184
9.375 1.632
11.7188 1.248
14.0625 0.912
16.4062 0.552
18.6768 0.408
Injector scale: 975
Fuel trim idle = .88
Fuel trim cruise = -1.2
However, my car now likes to stall during idle and when I step on the gas it hesitates. If I scale my injectors like this (below), my idle and overall drive-ability is near perfect, but the fuel trims are way off:

Can anyone throw any pointers, or suggest other threads on how I should correct the rest of my tune since I changed my latencies and injector scale? I understand how to log and correct AFR's during WOT pulls, but not so much about fixing my idle, and correcting hesitation I have when I step on the gas. I attached a screen shot of some of my fuel settings. Sorry, I'm still new at this and trying to understand. A noob like me would like to see a thread that explains each one of these fuel maps, and how they correlate with each other exactly.

FYI - I let the fuel trims level more(even after 45+ minutes of idling and cruising) and of course, when scaled at 975 with the latency above, they are now +5.98(idle) and -5.39(cruise). It's so hard to zero the FTs.
