wgdc correction based on MAF IAT
Hi guys,
My next release (V6) will have some fairly basic support for WGDC correction based on the MAF IAT.
Here is a little example:
Basically the number on the right will be added (or subtracted if its negative) to the WGDC out of the base wgdc table.
Now I need some meaningful numbers to put in here, has anyone got any hard facts about temp vs wgdc changes required?
Obviously your 0 correction temp will be the temp at which you tuned your car, but the others around it will need to be modified!
FYI - I want to get V6 out pretty soon, it will mainly be a boost mod patch, ie all my other patches to date plus a bunch of boost modifications.
Hopefully this will end the modifications needed to be done for the boost system, and then I can begin work on other things
Cheers

Great stuff tephra! I hope someone has some good logs to show difference. I can *guess* that for around -30*Fchange (~16*C change), tune in 55*F driving in 25*F, you need to remove about 10% WGDC maybe more. I haven't retuned the car for the cold weather so i don't know the change.

I had my cars boost set in like mid 50 degree weather and when it dropped into the 30's I had to take out about 5% at peak to stay around 23-24.

Direct boost + auto temp corrections + individual gear boost = awesome boost control system.

Neat stuff. It'll get rid of boost overspike in cold weather on first pull when error correction hasn't done it yet and just make it smoother, getting rid of oscillations that spike usually causes.
You'll just need 5-6 months to fully tune it
I personally will still have to reflash my boost adder for winter and summer anyway as i run 2 psi less in winter. No need for too much boost on ice even on snow tires But automating WDGC adjustments would be pretty nice i suppose.

yeah this will happen during the WGDC map lookup.
so say you have 80% in the Base WGDC, and you tuned at 30F, and now its 0F, and you have -10 in 0F WGDC/MAF IAT correction table, then you would get 80-10.
70 obviously.
So then the normal ECU corrections would happen.
One thing to note is I have made it happen when WGDC not 100%. So if you are at 100% WGDC and the temp changes then you wont get any temp correction. I figure ppl at 100% WGDC are trying to get as much boost as possible, so correcting it is dumb
This is primarily for overshoot on spool - I am not particularily phased at higher RPM's as the normal TBEC handles this fairly well.
scheides - yes FULL gear based wgdc will be in the next release - its awesome
