Disabling BCS (wastegate solenoid)

Disabling BCS (wastegate solenoid)
I currently am running a GM BCS in my car but I plan to go back to a manual boost controller. I'd like to just remove it all together so the ECU doesn't waste time thinking about boost control when its out of ECU control and so there is less stuff cluttering up my engine bay. Looking at the periphery map, it looks like the corresponding bit is FAA bit.6. Can I just disable this bit or does it also control other important/needed functions?

Thats what I would do, but I think he is also looking to remove the CEL associated with not having the BCS plugged in.
Hopefully the periphery disable will make the ECU not worry about it at all, but as far as removing any code or skipping around it I'd recommend against any of that. The nature of the beast is that you don't know what all you are killing off by doing so.
I'd be just slightly concerned about removing some other boost/load related calculations (IE boost cut) by doing so, but I understand the desire to get rid of a CEL (and some clutter in the engine bay if it isn't doing anything).

I am currently running with my boost solenoid unplugged and have no CEL because of it..

I never liked the GM BCS from day 1. I had it for a year and tried load-based and direct with a JDM MAP sensor. Its much more time consuming to adjust and boost was never as steady. Mid-range with the MBC is much stronger and power comes on much more quickly. Got rid of the GM BCS, reinstall a MBC, my issues vanish and my car puts down the most power it ever has.

I see.. yeah i heard its a bit time consuming to setup the boost as how you exactly want it. but i have seen amazing boost curves mostly from razorlab. so i just want to try it and see if i could hold more boost up top. if your GM BCS is in good condition and you want to sell it send me a pm.

And yes, Razorlab is the man at tuning ECU boost. I also, have tuned perfect boost curves with ECU boost (load and direct), but it take longer and is more complicated then an MBC.
To each their own though...
