Gotcha

Just give me some time to test tomorrow. I'll plug so many numbers in that I'll get a result one way or another.

Here is my tephra mods box. I also included all my AFR settings as well as my EGR table zeroed out but it still pegs 128 on startup.........weird.

Tephra, for this boost drop on AFR range, would it have been easier to just have 1 set AFR value (Ex. 12.8) that above your set load threshold if the value went over (12.8) then it would pull boost for the amount of time entered?

I myself was confused on the min/max and what it actually meant....but I haven't had my car for 4 weeks to test.

OK, got the AFR safety to work. If you look at the attached image the "MIN" values are actually the max values and the "MAX" values are actually the min value. Also it works such that if you enter the window that you set, it cuts boost. IE: the min/max values are reversed and if you are in the window that you set it cuts the boost not if you are out of the window.

Two suggestions:

I like travman would prefer 1 value. If you go over this voltage threshold then boost is cut.

Suggestion 2: a timer for the amount of time the car is above this level. What I've noticed is that I can go full throttle and play with the gas peddle on/off and get it to go "lean" during a weird transition. Its actually more of misfire probably when the BOV opens. Anyways the wideband reads lean for a small instant, but that is all the time it takes and it cuts boost, in my case for 3 seconds. I'd like a timer so that it would need to be lean for a set amount of time before it cuts boost (for me I'll use 250ms).

so you are only interested in Lean condition?

and not rich?

makes it easier I guess

I'll think about the timer thing - might be easy, might be hard..

Anything else?

This will all go into V7 - which will basically be bug fixes/small improvements from V6...

If I'm too rich thats my fault (from tuning). Too lean is a fuel system malfunction. That is the condition I want to protect. 1 number, less to screw up. However the timer adds complexity, and I hate complexity, but it is needed.

too rich *could* indicate a boost leak..

but yes I guess that's not fatal.

ok so anything else you would like fixed/changed for V7?

Yep, too rich is a boost leak. It happens, not a big issue. Its why mass airflow is intrinsically safe.

So far I'm pretty happy. I guess I'm the only one with the EGR problem then? Nobody else has mentioned it. My car must be weird. I think I've used most of the features. Seems fine so far.

The only other thing I can think of, and this is really nit picking. But I'd like to use both the two different correction intervals for boost. In the stock ecu their is a high/low cross over point. Below the crossover point you are on one correction interval. Above the crossover point (rpm/speed) it uses the high cross over correction interval. Since the engine accelerates so much faster in the lower gears I'd like to use a different correction interval to compensate for this.
