TephraMOD V6 - testing!
#466
Looking at the MUT table for the 96530706 ROM, it looks like the first four bytes are two-byte "somethings", but they're not sets of two-byte values I'm familiar with; it's not a showstopper for testing, but I'd love to know what they are (unless they're just a cut-n-paste error). To save someone the trouble of pulling it up in EcuFlash, the pairs are:
MUT00: 0xFFFF8450 and 0xFFFF8451
MUT02: 0xFFFF6B7E and 0xFFFF6B7F
Also, since MUT00 is now something else, is 0xFFFF840B still the correct address for 1-byte load?
It's going to be sad going back to MUT logging speeds.

Re: the dual pressure switch; monitoring of high and low line pressures in the A/C system? Presumably for disabling A/C when pressure is too low (ie. you just killed another few miles of ozone layer because your A/C system leaked)? I know that on both our 1g and WRX, when the lines were empty, the compressor wouldn't engage.
Does anyone know what the 'dual pressure switch' is that is shown on pg. 90 as an input into the ECU (pin 45) and the A/C ECU?
The only thing that I am wondering about is on pg. 87 where it shows ac switch as one of the inputs into the ECU, on connector C-121, which is the first 26 pin ECU connector. Looking at the wiring diagrams for the ECU, that should be either pin 8 or pin 24. Pin 8 just controls the compressor as tephra mentioned. Pin 24 is an input from the AC ECU. So, the AC ECU may be handling the logic of the ac switch along with the other inputs. Unless there is another pin in that C-121 connector that is being used?
Otherwise, we need to know what that pin 45 switch is.

This is the amber/red switch on the AC line next to the timing belt.

FYI for the nervous: 96530706 booted, fired, and made it to lunch and back just fine. I need to spend quite a bit more time with the new configuration options, but so far so good.
Tephra, a big thumbs up. I have no idea how you're staying motivated to work on this stuff without an Evo to use it on, but I'm not complaining.

Nope, nothing has been released for that ROM yet. Note that this is definitely a test release, not something the faint of heart should be running yet.
If you're still eager to test after taking that into consideration, try 96530006, otherwise known as 96530706 in tephra's new ROM designation world. See here for conversion detail; it documents converting from 96940011, but the process is the same. So far, at least one person has converted from an '03 ROM to this one successfully, but at least one person has had problems. So, your odds are currently 50-50.
If you want to approach it this way, I would strongly suggest migrating to the 5.10 version of 96530006 first, to make sure it works for you, and then move up to the new one that tephra just released. I'd hate to see people reporting bugs to tephra that are actually because of the switch to 96530006, rather than because of new code in the v7 test release.

good work Ed.
I am suprised it worked first go hehe
ok So I need the following things tested:
1) valet - try and lock yourself out
2) tps toggle for altmaps
3) autoics altmaps
4) adc0f altmaps
5) retest of boost drop for both highknock and afr safety
6) anything else you guys can think of
probably the only thing I will change is skip the valet stuff is altmap master = 3

tephra,
Any plans to eventually get John's live mapping and SD into your patches? I've noticed that you have incorporated a lot of mrfred's patches like the rear o2 simulator and mass airflow logging. Time to start incorporating John's work now.

Yeah, that would be great. I think mrfred was about to do SD for 96530006, but I think he started concentrating on a couple of other big projects (I think flex fuel, etc). I think John never looked at the ROM yet for SD, since he done all of disassembly with his ROM and a couple others, but not this one. 96530006 is just a bit more complicated since mrfreds MAT patch had to be enabled first and you need a map sensor, etc.
Hopefully one of the two will grab the V7 when tested and put both livemapping and SD into it. Now that I am on 96530006 and testing John's live mapping, and more and more people are trying this ROM, maybe it will get some more priority. One can hope, right?
