TephraMOD V6 - testing!
#946
As a sidenote tephra travman had an issue with the EGR hanging open during cold starting the motor just like I did on the IX v6 beta rom. Just throwing that out there. It doesn't affect me, I've disabled my EGR, just saying that it should probably be checked before final release. I think it may have something to do with a periphery bit, I'll double check, probably a user keyboard interface error.
Pull boost on knock saved my *** a couple times (like yesterday) and pull boost when lean did as well since last time I posted in this thread. Maybe I missed it but does pull boost when lean have a timer associated with it now? The car will hang lean when you lift off for a shift to the next gear but the ecu still reads fairly high load (timing delay) and that split second overlap will trigger the pull boost when lean code.
Otherwise 20-22mpg on E85, rock solid gear based boost, idles in 100 deg F traffic with the ac on, and I can still hand the keys to a girl to start it up and drive it things are so seamless.

FYI, frost (fostytou) and I finally got my map switch installed and it was not working via ADC0 on 9650706. We confirmed the value switched to 3 in v5.10 first. No dice
This is when logging 0x8425 as shown here http://evoecu.logic.net/wiki/TephraM...Alt_Map_status .... the difference in injector scaling didn't seem to appear either.
I'm having a seperate problem with low boost levels (21psi max) at 100% wgdc.
We are using phenem's files posted in link 2 at https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/7026115-post651.html
Is it possible that the set-source switch got mixed up? It looks like 1=adc0f and 2=ICS are the same as 5.10 in the menu and obviously 3=tps was added.

Just flash the new version over your old rom. The idea here is all evo VIIIs will use one rom and the IVs will use another. Tephra for simplicity will not support the variations of the roms.

i haven't been sleeping much. so i just take a stock 15 map and and flash it to my ECU. then, when i open up ECUflash from then on, it will always be operating on the 15 map instead of the 13. correct?

OK.
I have found the bug which stop's altmaps from working.
Before I release t6 to fix that does anyone think its a good idea to put in a valet code lockout when Altmap by TPS is being used?
Its something thats being bugging me...

No.
I looked into a full PID controller replacement and it was too hard to get off the ground... The current system works pretty well if you know how to tune it.
That and the features I have added (100WGDC+gear based tables) means you should have rock solid boost control...

It does work well... it was worth a try
Another Idea is having the dejon bov modification controlled via the stock ecu. The ecu controlled solenoid switches between zero boost leak mode and quick release mode.
It would require a low/hi side driver output using a load threshold to to enable quick release/zero leak.
This would make the stock bov even more effective. lmk

What exactly do you mean by valet code lockout?
