Yes you will need to change the Immob. Hex anytime you switch to a non UDSM ROM. For example the 96530006 is a EDM ROM so they have different Immob. hardware over there and different hex values. So that is why the change needs to be made when you run that ROM on a USDM vehicle.

Just confirmed all features of v7t6 to be working just as v7t5 was working for me. All features that I use and tested on my 2003 EVO8, boost, launch map, knock flash, drop boost on knock, and alt. maps.

Anyone else check anything else that we can check off the list?

Orig. Rom 96940011 was running V5. Confirmed vehicle started with 96530706 V7t6. All features except valet of fresh ign. and afr confirmed.

ok apparently, Im missing somethin here... 1 is the ROM, and the other 2 are the base and the 9653??? Sorry for the newbness, but I upload both .xmls, and copy the rom into ecuflash, and it tells me Unable to find parent metadata evo7base_20081101.... Everything is wack. "...." Am I even understanding this righ??? W/ the tephra v.6 and 015 rom, I had to upload my 015, base9, (that I set up), w/ the Tephra .xml in the same folder, and copy the tephra rom into ecuflash, and copy/paste everything over... TIA

You are missing the entire ship. Again, READ the post you quoted above.

Download 1 is tephra's V7.6 rom and xml file.

Download 2 is tephra's V7.6 rom with phenem's changes* and a modded xml file with Mr. Fred's patches incorporated thanks to Phenem. *He also went in and turned off EGR and EVAP etc in the rom.*

And do you have an Evo IX or VIII? You cannot use this rom on a IX.

 

one more thing, the latest ecuflash version, it has whatever else you need.

 

Im not sure if being sick is owning me, or reading just pwns me... I am aware this is for an EDM 8. And can/will be used for all/most of the Tephra 8 roms. (is my understanding) Im just trying to understand how to set up other roms for other vehicles, as I have not even connected to another car... I have a buddy w/ an 8 mr who has asked me to log his car w/ him, and I was trying to get a grasp on this, and possibly present this option to him. Obviously, I skipped over learning anything w/ other roms, till this point.

Edit: found the problem... The evo7base, Needs to have "_20081101" added to the end of the file name!

so looking thru the rom, I can not find the 3D "boost table",(dont think I missed it) 3D WGDC map is there, and not all of the normal baseline boost tables are not properly defined as well... I know those arent in use, just something I noticed...

Adding that to the end of the evo7base.xml is a work around. What you really need is to upgrade to at least 1.41 or the latest version of ECUFlash. If you are not on the latest version that XML will not be there, hence why it can't find it. You renaming it was a temporary fix but I don't know what kind of other issues (maybe like you are having now) that it will present in the future. Upgrade to the latest version, copy in the provided XML and you should be good.

I am not knocking you are trying to be mean, but honestly this is testing and for people that really know their way around the ROM / XML enviornment. Based on your questions and some of the answers you are giving I can tell you really don't know your way around this type of testing. I would be very careful if I were you playing with other cars, other than your own. Honestly these types of questions are geared more towards when the final release is out. If you are still having trouble I would say to wait until the final release is out. Also I created a thread on modding a ROM / XML a long time ago, have you read through that? It explains a lot with screenshots and everything.
