tephra,

I finally started logging the mass airflow variables that you included from mrfred/acamus' airflow calcs. I logged FFFF 8450 and FFFF 8451 with the supplied calc (256A+B)*.0236, but I am getting a curve that looks more like what I would expect for a mass airflow/rev, like a g/rev.

Are these the correct variables still and are they g/s?

FYI, I am using the V7 final for 96530706.

Thanks,
Eric

I use this calculation in EVOScan for lbs/min:

Code:
 ([InjDutyCycle]*[WideBandAF])*0.0561674

I have allready done it. Its not working, funny thing is that evo 7 starts with 8ecu and flash from 7

That's an estimation, whereas mrfred/acamus' airflow calc that rephra has included in the measured mass airflow.

I used to use this in my old 96940011 ROM fine, but tephra has now included it in the tephra roms, but I am seeing a curve other than what I expected., and obviously the formula is off.

Tephra, any input on my question in post #1367 above about logging the mass airflow?

Thanks,
Eric

Ok, so last night I helped a friend to setup/flash his car - he has an EDM Evo 9 88840016 which we flashed with 88840617 for the per gear boosting etc, which I was told would work fine with his car.

After copying the various tables over from his original ROM, and doing the immobiliser code, the car just refuses to start.

We triple confirmed that the immobiliser code was enetered correctly, and even went as far as disabling it with the Perph bits, but nothing.
The car cranks but doesn't start, it seems as if it is not getting any fuel.

We tried everything we could think of and triple checked we had everything correct, but the car still refuses to start.

Eventually we just flashed his original 88840016 ROM back onto his car and it fires up first time.

This is the first time I have done a car with the 88840617, I have done a few cars - Evo8's - using the 96530706 without any problems, so I am pretty familiar with the whole procedure.

Any help/ideas appreciated.
He has an appointment with his tuner, for the coming weekend and primarily wants to get his per gear boosting/map switching dialed in on the dyno.

Thx

Thx for the quick reply...

We disabled all the mods , including valet mode.
Not sure what the rpm was set to but I assume disabling valet mode would have been sufficient.

Yeh V5.10 and V6 had a retarded thing with valet mode.

I think/hope its fixed in V7.

Just set the RPM limit for valet to 8k (or 10k if your a rev daemon :P)

I just phoned my mate, after I left him last, he did try setting the Valet Mode to 2000rpm but that didn't make any difference.

Do you think we should try it again and set it at 8000rpm?

I will be tuning a friends 8 with v7b6, any chance I can get a more recent version for him as well?

Figured I might as well throw it out there

email is rkyle82 (at) gmail.com

We are both craving gear based boost!

Thx...

Something to add.

When I set valet mode to lowet possible rpm on my car, 114rpm I think it is, and then try to start the car.
It will very briefly fire up and then die right away, but with my mates car, it doesn't do that.

It just cranks but never fires, very similar to what you get when you would unplug the camshaft sensor.
