MAF No Screen / Who's doing it?

if im on a fp green or fp red can i still use the maf with the comb or am i not safe ??
i wouldn't just cause there have been no REAL ill effects of removing it or i read that some ppl use silicone to stick it down in place so it isn't sucked in. just let ur tuner tune "around it" so to speak.

i see ur in Miami...i just got back from there and saw no evos! where do you guys hide out?

Crazy, hacking the MAF on a 2G made the car a freaking nightmare for driveability and leaned the car out quite a bit.

Ive had my screen out probably for 2 years now. I got it from Matt or tuner@swift now. I was having problems and he gave it to me for free.

But since day 1 with my car back on the road I have had no problems. But I dont have any previous logs of my car with a screen in it to compare.

I do notice though that my loads seem kind of low compared to other's considering my mods and such. Ive been seeing loads of about 310 now at 30 psi on ported 9 turbo with meth on a m10 jet 93 oct.

Has anyone out there ever done this and HAD PROBLEMS?? Im really wanting to take it out but Ive heard from a few people that there were a few quirks like a rich dip every time they pass through 1500 RPM.

Do not count on not having to re-tune the car. I'm still working through transient small stuff, but running through some relatively basic settings last night for about 5 minutes in the driveway has brought things closer in line, I still need to do some fine tuning and then reset my STFT and MTFT (LTFT hasn't really had time to roll over yet, but it'll get reset too), but even without doing that last night I got the corrections to move closer to zero than they started at (-12 now they're inside -5). It is also possible that my trims were thrown off by running race gas last week, so other cases might not be as severe as mine.

Its not a big deal if you're reasonably competent with tuning your car (or have an apt with a tuner set up for soon after the fact), its just messing with injector scaling and the fuel map a bit to keep it from doing strange things.
