PTE 880cc Scaling help
#16
Hi, I have recently fitted these injectors.
I have used some latency settings posted in another thread which seem to work well for me (+/- 3-4%):
Scaled at 790,
3.312 2.184 1.320 0.840 0.672 0.360 0.240
Since the injectors have been in, I'm having a problem starting sometimes.
When cold, it starts first time everytime straight away, like stock.
When hot, it starts fine.
When it's somewhere inbetween (left stood for 1-2 hours) it takes a LOT of cranking to start it
After some digging through the many forums around, i came across this thread and decided to have a play with the attached spreadsheet a few posts up.
Am i right in assuming i 'should' be using some slightly different values if the entire column should be scaled?
Something along the lines of:
3.216
2.186
1.330
0.841
0.544
0.359
0.238
These were attained by a 'best fit' assumption.
Having just flashed these to the car, it is no different as far as starting is concerned
Am i missing something?
Is there another value i need to change other than the scaling/latency?
Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Cheers.

I don't have a good answer for the startup problem - I've been having challenges with my idle too when the car is warm (cold is fine, hot is fine) where the rpms just keep going up to almost 2k before settling again a minute or two later.

Another little thing i've found is light throttle shifting. It tends to get a little 'boggy' when shifting as if the injectors are flooding it?
Does anyone else not have any of these problems with these injectors?

Right, I really need some help here
I feel like I'm going around in circles
Having fiddled with the previously posted spreadsheet, these are some of the results I'm getting:
I know the figures for 1 don't tally, that was a bit of a mix and match
I didn't even bother finishing 4 as it went out so quickly and with both the trims being minus, i should be upping the scaling size yes?
One thing i have noticed is that the 'bogging' i mentioned earlier gets worse as i upped the scaling.
Am i being a bit dumb here? Should i stick with a previously advised 770 scaling and try to work the latencies from there?
Any advice is MUCH appreciated

Take a look at the cold start enrichment table for help with start up.

Looks like you were the closest to the correct latency on #1 but it looks like the scaling was a tad low. I'm reading a 690 for scaling? I would pump that up to like 720.

The latest set of values I'm going to try next is pretty much the same numbers as #1 but scaling at 810 (You can see this in the table)
Looks like i may actually be getting somewhere now then
It just seemed a bit of a high injector scaling
And as I said, the 'bogging' during light throttle shifts seems to be getting worse
Cheers for the link

The 690 was the latency scaling on Voidhawks sheet

Using a scaling too high will make you run lean at WOT so be careful.

I have been having the same issue after installing my 880s. The car runs strong and idles great, but the starting is a pain in the ***.

nothing seems to work for me...
im thinking of going back to stock injectors or removing the MAFT and going back to stock MAF just to see if the lows and mids will go where they need to be.

are you using EvoScan or MitsuLogger to check trims? EvoScan doesn't work right for fuel trims so you should use Mitsulogger ... just a thought.

See the thread on the cold enrichment table. I can send you values that helped me if you're having issues. The values will be for Gas only E85 is much different.
