completely given up on trying to tune and log

well i have spent the better part of about 6 months trying everything i can to get evoscan to log. I have succesfully logged 0 times and its ****ing annoying. I consider myself pretty computer literate and cannot understand why its not working. i am using evoscan .99 and all i get is an error saying the string to integer or something and it just disengages. I have attempted to download .netframework 2.0 and i think i installed it correctly, but im not sure if it worked. i have also tried to update the drivers from the openecu website but i just extract the files to the desktop and have no idea where to put them or when i update the driver for tactix 1.3 i can't update it anymore. What else can i possibly do. try version 2.5, and if so where can i get it because i already have a serial number and would prefer not to pay for it again. This has been a compete nightmare for me and i havn't gotten anywhere at all for months on end. Any advice would be awesome. My computer specs are an acer mini laptop with windowsXP in perfect working condition. thanks for the help

Try another laptop just to make sure the issue isn't something on your laptop.

You should try and take a screen shot of the error or copy and paste it. I remember I had trouble at one point with what sounds like the same problem and it ended up being that a box that was needed for calculations wasn't selected.

Check every box there is on the menu if you want just to be sure and try to log. See what happens if it logs then just de-select box's one at a time to know which are needed and not needed.

need more details to help ... FYI, since you bought EvoScan you can ask them for help too (http://www.evoscan.org/helpdesk/). To get the latest version, email evoscan@limitless.co.nz with your serial number and he will mail you a link to download v2.5.

I have a similar problem as well.

Evoscan will just not engage and stay engaged, it will always drop off right away and say "link disengaged".

What do you think is the problem?

do you have the external wideband checked?

maybe try the newest beta (2.6b11) I am not sure if Vista causes problems with older version of evoscan...

i have them mini acer too, and i noticed that if i dont have my tactrix cable plugged into the first port on the right side (furthest to the left if you look right at it) and my wideband in the next one, it will say link disengaged, unless i uncheck my wideband, and also, have you tried a different cable? maybe you have a fault with your cable?

I have the aspire one btw

I had the same error when I started logging. Since I'm from Denmark we use another grammar standard where the decimal point are exchanged with comma.
So start with making sure your grammar setting is correct.
Controlpanel > international? I don't know what it is called in the english version.
Standard and formats should be: English(USA)

In the screen shot you're showing OBDII, there should be an option for MUT.

Failing that you could also try Mitsubishi Logger to check yours comms/laptop/cable.

Yes I have used Mitsulogger for logging, it works fine, it just will not read the wideband LM1 properly, which works fine too because logworks displays the correct AFR.

I have also used EcuFlash to download the rom from the ECU, so the cable is good.

I just updated to evoscan 2.6 beta11, so I'm going to see how that works out and I'll let you guys know.
