Sorry for the dumb question, but this is a "hex" file, do I need an "xml" in my "C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\read templates" file, in order to open it in EcuFlash?
Also Mattjin, on the wiki you mention "READ_TEMPLATE files should be used with a 7055 memmodel" I only have <memmodel>SH7052</memmodel>
I'm using EcuFlash 1.30 which according to Ecuflash wiki has 7055

It is the hex file and you will need an xml file to be able to read it in ecuflash.
For the 7GTA, the normal evo 7+8 read template is not correct, it only pulls half of the rom out. The evidence is easy, just grab the file I posted on the wiki for the 7gta and you will see it is 512k and not 256k. I posted the correct and new read_template file in another thread that is now lost the wind I believe. A little searching may find it. I might post it to the wiki, but I was hoping with the next release of ecuflash they might include it in the software build. Basically it is a normal Evo 7 read template modified and re-named to use a 7055 memmodel instead of the 7052. If you only work with with your own vehicle, you can quite easily just edit your won read template file and change the numbers yourself.

Although I dont have the read template file on this PC, I just made one up for you to try. Download the file, unzip it, and put it into your Ecuflash/rommetadata/read template/ directory. Just to be sure, make sure you have shutdown ecuflash while adding this. The next time you startup ecuflash and have the cable plugged in you should see the new evo7GTA type as a selection when you do a Read.
You also need to edit your own 80700010.xml so that it also has a 7055 memmodel and not a 7052 otherwise it wont read it correctly.

I have compiled a workable XML file to view the 9GTA. There may be a few minor errors with the 1D's but for the most part it is functional and up to date.
There are a few things I should have done different with this. The first is that it probably should not have used the evo 9 base file. I might redo both the 7GTA and 9GTA to use an EvoAuto base file in future because alot of the naming of maps was incorrect and it makes things look messy on the 9 base.
So if any maps end up with strange labelling or scale problems, please dont bother me with them as it is probably incorrect info in your base file. You will have to agree that I have helped enough here
