ECUFlash and Wide band logging

So I'm new to tuning EVo's.....and especially green at tuning them my self. I've got some knowledge tuning and I have read the ECUFlash sticky's religously. One thing that wasn't apparent (and maybe I missed it) was wideband logging. if I'm using a AEM UEGO so will I need to make a serial cable to connect to my laptop....is there any other method with the AEM UEGO?.

Thanks in advance guys. I know alot of the sticky's are old so I guess its assumed that people who are at the point ready to tune already know this.

Yes, you will need to make a serial cable, or buy one from Fast_Freddie:

And there's some additional setup info in this thread:

or you could just get an Innovate LC-1 w/the gauge kit and it already has a serial cable that comes with it and its more accurate, my AEM read all kinds of crazy inaccurate things, before that i thought they were the best, had 2 friends use them no prob, but i love my innovate now, i recommend it to anyone, if u need any other help shoot a PM

I am the exact opposite... i went from an innovate to an AEM... The innovates are really really finiky and need constant attention... I got tired of it losing calibration data every 2 months and having to re set up everything again. I have had the AEM for about 6 months now without one hiccup...

Forgot to add....the Innovate on my SRT started to go bonkers after a few months......Wrote the car off before I could ever figure out what was wrong.

I don' t know if you notice but the AEM wideband comes with the instruction on how to make the cable. And yes that is the only method of logging with evoscan. I have one and I like it.

Actually not really... you could replace the wideband analog output into the rear O2 ecu pin terminal and log it that way also FYI. It is easier for me to do the serial cable as I don't wanna remove the secondary O2.

innovate is definitly hit or miss on the lc-1. Mine was rock solid for a long time, now its starting to flake out. It won't log correctly in evoscan, it dumps its cal on a semi-regular basis (doesn't matter, I've always calibrated it when I wanted to tune anyway just to make sure). It might get replaced with an AEM here before long. less cable-age floating around.

Go to the wideband tab in Evoscan and select which com port the cable is connected to... to find out, open up device manager and see. Then select the wideband you are using, and lastly check External Wideband to log...

I have one from radio shack and it works fine...

Make sure that the Tactrix cable is set up on COM port 1 and the serial to usb is set on Com port 2 or 3.
