Don't we wish.

With the stock intake box and such it's not as bad but with other intakes it can climb a ton without moving air (IE in traffic etc)

I was just watching my MAF IAT the other day on my Viliv go to 130F in 65F ambient temps.

SiC, I just tested this out and the numbers seem too low to me. The numbers I'm logging are about 10-20F above ambient, and they actually go down as rpm's rise during a WOT third gear run. This looks like it's IAT at the MAF sensor and not the intake manifold for USDM. I'm confused I have multiple logs where it drops from 90F to 80F from the beginning to the end of a WOT third gear log.

Where are we suppose to input this at? in the evoscan XML data setting document???? is there a specific section?

Manifold temp will raise during a pull, the percentage it raises during the pull will show you how well the intercooler is working, MAF will usually drop because of more fresh air hitting the front of the car.

You would sell a bizzillion intercoolers if you could make it drop the temp during a pull while still using ambient air.

You add it to the Data.xml file under the "DataSettings" directory. Just search that file for Mode23 and add it in that section.

LOL, you're right I'm not used to working with fareinheit. And here's the correct one:

so can anyone confirm that this is the Intake manifold air temp? i'm running meth so i'm sure this will be very helpful for me to log.

Thanks SiC! I think this worked! In a third gear WOT log, I go from 160F to 190F at 7500 rpm's. Does this sound right? Ambient temperature was mid 60's F.

Now, what is a good temperature to aim for? How hot is too hot? Should I lower my boost so the manifold temps aren't so high? After the WOT run, i was driving around for a bit and manifold temps stayed at 160F - they were around 130F prior to the WOT run.

EDIT: Here's a brief log of third gear RPM and Intake Manifold Temp on a stock GSR (peak boost of 24 psi).
Ambient Temp = 68F
2000 rpm = 155 F
3000 rpm = 160 F
4000 rpm = 170 F
5000 rpm = 177 F
6000 rpm = 181 F
7000 rpm = 186 F

I got mode23 working this evening with EvoScan on a friend's USDM Evo 10. A couple things I noticed:

- Load seemed a bit low. I'll need to see what variant of load is in the Data.xml file I downloaded.
- Logging rate was only about 100-120 values/sec. Not quite as high as I had expected. Had logging to screen and multithreading disabled.
- 12 knock counts only resulted in 2-3 deg of timing being pulled. I expected more timing to be pulled.

MrFred - try using the DEBUG version of the op20.dll.

Colby sent it to me ages ago, and it makes a huge improvement in speed over the 1.41 release DLL

That might resolve your speed issue.

That might resolve your speed issue.
Both the ship and debug versions using the same code? That would seem odd that the debug version is quicker than the ship over the same code....
