Hamish, I believe you can buy one Colt/Airtek CAN ECU and sell it afterwards.
It should be somewhere around $100 and try it. I believe it would be a good investment
taking into account you could sell GPS logger/1.3U for X with small HW mod.
I have found one near me for even less, ~60€,
but I have no intention to create another cable and software. Maybe if I would be encouraged
by donation from guys here to buy the ECU I would try it myself, otherwise it would be only
costly intellectual exercise for me.

$75 is the lowest that I could find
Or we might ask guys to crawl their local salvage yards for this Eclipse to get you some CAN ECU to test on and see what would be the price for complete electrical equipment - anyone?
