OK, I am sorry to be an idiot, but I need help.

My ID is 52680018
I open my 52680018.xml with Notepad, and see this:

<rom>
<romid>
<xmlid>52680018</xmlid>
<internalidaddress>5002A</internalidaddress>
<internalidhex>52680018</internalidhex>
<make>Mitsubishi</make>
<market>USDM</market>
<model>Lancer</model>
<submodel>Evolution X</submodel>
<transmission>5MT</transmission>
<year>2008</year>
<flashmethod>mitsucan</flashmethod>
<checksummodule>mitsucan</checksummodule>
<memmodel>M32186F8</memmodel>
</romid>

<include>52680015</include>
</rom>

So basically, I want to copy this data in, and it looks like this:

<rom>
<romid>
<xmlid>52680018</xmlid>
<internalidaddress>5002A</internalidaddress>
<internalidhex>52680018</internalidhex>
<make>Mitsubishi</make>
<market>USDM</market>
<model>Lancer</model>
<submodel>Evolution X</submodel>
<transmission>5MT</transmission>
<year>2008</year>
<flashmethod>mitsucan</flashmethod>
<checksummodule>mitsucan</checksummodule>
<memmodel>M32186F8</memmodel>
</romid>

<include>52680015</include>
<table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #1" category="Misc" type="1D" address="0x7f121" scaling="Hex8"/>
<table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #2" category="Misc" type="1D" address="0x8ab11" scaling="Hex8"/>
<table name="DoMode 0x42 -> 0x52" category="Misc" type="1D" address="0x8ab16" scaling="Hex16"/>

</rom>

Then I save it in Notepad and close. Correct?

I don't want to screw anything up. Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is correct

Then open your ROM up in ECUFlash and change the numbers 05 to 23, 05 to 23, and 42 to 52.

noize - did you check this out?

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...lustrated.html

someone correct me if i am wrong, but my understand is that you can make those changes to 52680015 (as shown in the tutorial) because in the 52680018 file it has the line
<include>52680015</include>

so essentially when it reads 52680018 its also pointing to 52680015

If you're only dealing with 52680018 then you can just edit that XML but if you want to deal with all 5268 series ROMs then you should edit the 52680015 XML.

Okay what's the difference between Mode23 logging and the regular Evo X ECU? Also what is the difference between 2-byte RPM and regular RPM?

OK, but since the 52680015 looks exactly like the one in the illustrated thread, I can edit it there instead, yes?

Yes because if you add it into 52680015, even if your rom is 52680018, you will still have the Mode 23 stuff because 52680016-20 all call 52680015.

I haven't jumped on the mode23 bandwagon, not having trouble tuning without it.

Are you able to log load and boost through the ECU without mode23? I didn't think the CAN ID's worked yet?

When I added mine to 18 it wouldn't recognize it, but when I added it to 15 (which 18 inherits) it worked like a charm. Go figure.

has anyone else experienced this?
i am thinking about updating my how-to to explain about placing the XML nodes in the base metadata rather than the ID that matches your ROM ID

I think you should, because mine was not working in 18, but works perfectly in 15. Its like logging a CT9A now.

- ADDED OBDII DATALOGGING SUPPORT for OpenPort1.3U and OpenPort 2.0
- this will work with ALL vehicles 1996-2008 (OBDII)
(the government should have mandated Generic OBDII be fast, lol! EvoScan makes it as fast as it can, its still a waste of time for Mitsubishi owners, stick with MUTII)
- Relabelled all the protocols and devices.
- More support for OpenPort 2.0 and Evo7/8/9 Actuators+DTC
- More support for 2008/09 JDM EvoX Mode23 (thanks SiC)
- More support for multiple
- Added a new checkbox to "Display only selected items" hides the dataitems you're not logging at that time.

Hamish,

I installed this version and tested how the LM-1 works with it. It is NOT cutting out when I lift off the gas. It works. The LM-1 works with version 17 on my Evo 9. YAY!!!!

Thanks Hamish for fixing this problem.

I still have to test mode23 logging on an Evo X with the LM-1 and see if it works.

Hamish, Logging an Evo X in mode 23 with the LM-1 should be the same as logging an Evo 9? Correct? The LM-1 will not cut off. Right?
