Can't wait!
Improved resource management (including battery life) was a focus of windows 7 so yes there is/will be a difference.

Windows is actually offering free upgrades for those who purchase after August first I believe.

op: Evoscan 2.6 and ECUflash both worth with 64bit Windows 7.

PS... I've been runnign windows 7 since the very first release and i love it.. I know i'll get alot of crap for this, but i retired my mac and jumped back to pc.

Windows hit the jackpot!

Cheers!

I should be picking up a spare laptop hardrive later today and installing Windows 7. Heard ALOT of good reviews so far. Good to hear evoscan and ecuflash works well with it.

Thought I'd bump this up, since I was curious and it's topical.

It was mentioned above that all software that works with Vista should work with Win7 too (make sense since Win7 has same OS core as Vista).

But can anyone confirm that all other Evo tuning software is working under Win7 too?

- Virtual Dyno Room Simuator v5.71
- DataLogLab v1.5.7
- FTDI usb-serial converter drivers
- etc.

evoscan/pcmscan/ecuflash/mylogger ALL work with windows 7.

HOWEVER - if its just a tuning laptop I would probably seriously think about using XP.

REALLY the ONLY advantage of win7 is the better battery life...

try it and see your laptop might be too slow/not have enough memory for W7

Once you aren't planning to run super advanced Ultimate features, or something graphic intensive like Aero if it can run XP half decently, it will run Windows 7. Battery life wasn't the only thing that was concentrated on. A set focus was made to ensure that it would run on computers with limited hardware (see netbooks) and run well.

I wanted to bump this thread because I have an issue..

I just updated to windows 7 64bit. And now the computer does not recgonise the tactrics cable being plugged in? Ecuflash, and evoscan start up and run just fine. However when I plug the cable in - nothing happens - just makes that beep when you plug in a USB device..

I dont understand whats going on? =(
