Serial wideband input freezing on vista64 with dynex on evoscan2.6

The thread title pretty much says it all. Has anyone else had trouble with a dynex usb to serial converter with evoscan2.6? I'm not sure if the problem is the driver or if it is with evoscan or if my laptop is doing something funny (Toshiba has some cool but odd utilities for charging usb devices without the computer being on and some other things). I have tried two drivers for this adapter and have had the same issue, if I try to log the wideband input freezes. If I stop the log then start again it works for a few seconds then freezes again. I upgraded to 2.6 when I switched computers and my old computer had a serial port so I'm in the unfortunate position of not knowing which part is causing the problem. I'll start by downloading an older version of evoscan but I just wanted to know if anyone else was having the problem.

Try using evscan2.7 beta. You can find the download in the evoscan/gps review thread on page 56 or 57. Towards the end somewhere.

Thanks, that worked great. I did some more searching and realized that it was an issue with 2.6 but downgrading to 2.5 wasn't working for me. This worked wonderfully.

Not sure if the link will work or not- titled "help with openport1.3". It's a strange issue that I'm having that makes no logical sense to me, but then again, I'm not a comp guru who truly understands what's going on.
