Poor Cold Idle (Yes I searched)
#243
This makes some sense to me. I had the 2k idle and it wouldnt go away until I switched roms but I dont have a clutch switch wired up either.

The 2000rpm cold start is normal for me coming from 96940011, as soon as I let out the clutch it drops rather quick... BTW just installed my ID1000s today... good stuff!

2K rev at cold idle.....
Is it EGR related ? ?
Is is Clutch Switch Related ? ?
I my car started it after I removed the EGR stuff and disabled the Peripherys.

I tried that just now @ lunch time. dash gauge indicated cool/cold engine, flashed the change before starting, rpms went up to around 1700 and stayed put, I let it run for a few seconds, turned it off, disabled the bit, cranked the car back up, rpms went back up to 1700 and stayed there until I started up the datalogger and drove off.

Cool beans....that rules out the clutch switch.
Guess it could be EGR related then.
Everyone who has the 2k rev at cold idle does not have the EGR hooked up and it is disabled in the peripheries ? ?

seems that way. I haven't removed or unplugged any of my egr solenoids and stuff, I might hook the vacuum lines up after work (weather permitting) and re-enable, see what happens.

I have the 2k idle, too, and have all EGR stuff hooked up and I think even enabled (will have to check).
Maybe I am wrong, but I thought the 2k idle was due to the decreasing the limit of the cold start ingition retard. That is when mine started...when I changed the 100% limit in the 'low temp timing retard' or something similar to 50%. I just never had a chance to tune it out with ISCV tables or something else.
The confusing thing is that some other people said they cured it by making those tables 0, which is counter-intuitive to me.

I, to my knowledge, have not set anything in 'low temp timing retard' or any map of such a name.
I *have* had warmup ignition retard turned off in the periphery (FAA bit..10 ) for probably over a year, and not had this particular issue that I can recall. Wonder if that has something to do with it, car drives like a bag of *** with it enabled though.

Disable EGR / Enable Ign Advance (set bit=1) is FAA bit 11
Both are set to = 0 for me.

Eric, the last time we compared setups, I had lean spool disabled and you didn't; I wonder if that's the difference here?
(For the record: I haven't had the "2k idle" since I made the changes I made in my previous post.)
