I have a question on the ICS spray on knock setting i read on the wiki page, when it says spray it also means switching to alt map with all that stuff enabled right? And also does it matter if the motor burns up or not because the map switching will still work since it is run off the switch. I dont care for the ICS motor as i never use that feature in my evo anyway.

So basically it is just a switch to swap maps, it has no settings where it will activate at a predetermined setting. Sorry i was getting the ICS spray on knock confused with once it hits a certain knock setting it swaps over to a safe map. It really didnt make sense to me why i would want my ICS to start spraying if my motor was knocking real bad. I got my CEL to flash at me for a warning. Thanks for clairifying.

Hey Dave, can u clarify somethin for me?
I just noticed that theres a huge difference in "temp scalings" between a v.7 rom, and a stock rom. (88590715/88590015) Heres a SS of what Im talking bout... "stock" on left, and "v.7" on right.
Ive been trying to determine (on my own) which are correct, and have found that the "stock coolant temp settings" on a v.7 rom are NO good! But can't tell if the other temp scalings have an effect. Can u can enlighten me, please?

Can we get a table to adjust the fuel pump relay 3 switching point ? ?
Here is why I ask...
We all know that the fuel pump runs on 9v and 12ish v depending on the ECU condition. It appears that this crossover point is at about 3000ish rpm. With big injectors this crossover creates a huge spot of hesitation (SWAG here) where the car feels like it hits a brick wall, but as soon as the cross over is made, the care will run fantastic.
In cars that spool fast, this further escalates the problem. If we could have the ability to control the fuel pump rpm switching point we could effectively remove this spot of hesitation.
PLEASE.
Thank you.
Paul

Wire the fuel pump to a kill switch part race car. Part anti-theft. Is there any reason this wouldn't work?
Curious: if I check my logs, will I see this change in the duty cycle?

I realize there may be several reasons as to why Mitsu would do this. But to have the ability to change the crossover would allow us to initiate the high votage to the fuel pump, potentially eliminating the need to hard wire the fuel pump(s) for full time 12V operation.

I thought there was some discussion on this in the past where someone mentioned (maybe mrfred) that it switches to high voltage at anything other than idle conditions, just about. I think it was based on load and RPM, but I'm just going off of memory.

That is ringing a loud bell to me. I think it was very low load, like below 80 or something. Its been a while. It can easily be checked by tossing a volt meter on the FP harness and just driving at cruise.

Here's the thread where it was discussed before. On this page, 03whitegsr tested for the switch conditions. It was low only on decel, idle, or loads at 20 or below and RPM under 2400RPM.
But, the actual code in the ECU was never posted in that thread.
