I spent a lot of time on this a few years back.

I set up a Gopro pointed at the SAS valve and it does indeed open on the 90550001 ROM or any v5/v7 version of it as long as it's all setup right.

Compared to 96260009 ROM (on the same ECU) the ALS on 90550001 doesn't really do much in the way of Anti-Lag (or pops and bangs). 92620009 I can easily get some savage explosions, like a bomb going off, with only flashing the ROM, no hardware or settings changed at all.

So I dived deep into the disassembly comparing the two Roms ALS related coding and there is a difference with the fueling under ALS conditions, and fueling routines overall. The valve control routine is identical, and the fuel injection time in it is identical, but the way the fueling is enacted on in the Evo 7 Rom or any earlier Evo 8 Rom is different and doesnt appear to stay on the same as the later Evo 8 Roms.

I tried making some changes to the 90550701 to see if I could get the fueling to behave the same as 96260709 but I could not, the fueling routines were too different to easily make it work the same.

End result was that I gave up on 90550701 and moved to 96260709 with working ALS and just sorted out the phantom knock issues I was having with this ROM.

 

Guys I am running a evo 5 with a evo 7 ecu, need help/steps to use the valet feature on Tephra v7.. Even when I clock 100% TPS for the set time the car will still not deactivate valet mode..CEL just keeps blinking randomly..

Note:
-Auto-valet on fresh ignition is on but even if I disable it it does not work
- car runs fine if valet mode is disabled in the mod options table..

i woyld suggest hook a data logger and watch live data to see what % the TPS is reading and adjust accordingly.
Also, valet mode the CEL is not flashing random, but flashes in a very specific way.

Guys, I am running a Evo 5 with a Evo 7 ECU via a Tephra V7 (90550001), Kindly help me on the below 2 issues:

-> NLTS is not working
- If turned "on" I am hitting a weird rpm cut at 5-6K RPM, car work fine if NLTS is turned off
- Have wired the grounded clutch switch wire to pin 43 of the ECU
-> Valet does not work on fresh ignition
- If valet function is turned on for fresh ignition the car is always on the set rpm limit(valet) unable to get out
- Valet function work fine if refers on fresh ignition is not tuned on

hi all. I have an evo 4 with ECU evo 8 mp. I have the following problem with tephra 7 96260709. When I just upload the firmware, the car starts and there are no deviations, but it stalls after 15 seconds and will not start again. Further, if the car stands still, everything repeats. There is no such problem with tephra 96530709. Only P0300 appears from errors, but not always. i have gtr 35 coils. dwell settings lika a Mrfred.

Hi. I have a ECU for 3 chips, not 4, but I get your point. It's just that if I mixed up the pins, why does everything work without problems on 9653? then it wouldn't work. I took the pinout for ECU 8 MP on it, these are 20 and 21 pins.

 

I've always had good luck with 9653 & 9417 in my Evo 6 with 8 ecu. If 9653 works just use that.
