Any reason there isn't an EvoScan subdir in the tools dir (e.g. did Hamish ask for it to be removed)?

Since it's a closed-source, paid app, we'd need his express permission to include it.

He likes to keep the download links private, so I'm not sure he'd want it committed in the repository.

No prob, just curious, and didn't want to upload it if Hamish didn't want it up there.

But by the same token, DataLogLab is a closed-source, paid app, but maybe you have express permission for that, and also the download link for DLL is public, so in that regard the SVN rep isn't really making anything available that isn't already publicly available.

As far as I remember there is a free version of DataLogLab and a paid version. If the free one is there then thats probably ok. If the paid version is there, not so much.

Realistically unless you have permission from the owners of said software it would be in the best interest of the owner of the SVN to keep that kind off stuff out of the system.

Incorrect, only one version ... fully functional version which is free to try for 30 days, after which you need to buy a software license to continue using it.

Fair enough. Still as I've been trying to explain on this forum on countless occasions the rights you have to do with software are a per software determination. Seems a lot easier in cases like these to simply ask the owners of said software if its ok to host it there then get an unnecessary "cease and desist" later on.

My 20 cents.

Just FYI, there's a mirror of the old contents at http://evoecu.logic.net/mirror/svn/, at least for now.

See recompile's message just a few posts before yours:

The mirror of the original contents is still available, if anyone wants it; there was actually a tremendous amount of good stuff saved all in one place.
