you can also go to oreilly's as they sale the borg warner version and then double back to autozone and buy the duralast pigtail. That is what i did.

On the IAT sensor, mrfred's instructions say to ground it to the block. However, all the stock sensors run back inside of the cabin and are grounded near the ECU. I'm rewiring the whole engine bay anyway so would I be better off running a ground inside of the car like the factory sensors?
It's not really any more work and I realize it's a pretty minute detail. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to cause a ground loop or something if I do this.

Thermistors operate at much higher resistance than any additional circuit resistance that might be encountered by grounding the sensor to the block (or IM), so there is no effect of ground point as long as its a good quality ground point.

I finally got around to getting my car (mostly) back together this week. Long story short, the car was virtually undrivable on the MAF.
FP 280+ cams
(heavily) ported intake manifold
Ported IX turbo and exhaust manifold
Ported head
3" IC piping and 4" intercooler with Tial BOV
B-shaft removal
Quarter Master twin disc
Lightweight drive shaft
Stock injectors
Everything combined just made the car very difficult to drive as just about everything ended in stalling the engine. Blipping the throttle would result in the engine stalling. Pushing in the clutch while coasting = stall. Letting it idle on it's own often lead to stalling. Most of it I have a feeling is just because the clutch is so damn light and the ECU has a very hard time dealing with it. While the Tial didn't really cause any major issues before, I'm sure it wasn't helping.
After giving up on the MAF ROM (94170015) I tossed in the Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors and loaded up the 96531706 ROM Phenom assembled from the hard work of Tephra's, mrfred's, l2r99gst, jcsbanks and many others.

It was very pain free. Set the injector scaling for the ID1000s and set the MAP VE table 1:1 all the way up.
The car has no problem starting, idling, and no more stalling from revving the engine. Most importantly, I was able to make it around the block with only a few stalls (the QM is a grabby little bastard). Hey, for having NO TUNING or driving on it at all, I'm thoroughly impressed. On the MAF, I BARELY made it home...I honestly thought I was going to have to push it back to the house. A bit of tuning and she's going to run well, I have a feeling. Below is a crappy video of the car idling and revving.
Now I just need to figure out the Livetune stuff.

It's mostly just figuring out how to use it. I opened it up and realized I was going to need to read through the threads on it a little more carefully. Let me get some reading and trial and error out of the way. I'm betting that will take care of most of my questions.

So far speed density has been working great for me to. I do once and a while get some breaking up when just light cruising, or when I try to stop hard into the throttle. However, I think I probably just need some new plugs because it's starting to break up up top which it never really did previously with the maf or even with my first few attempts at SD. Plus I'm sure 2 weeks of 10.4:1 afr's during cruise really didn't help my plugs any lol.
With luck in a couple more weeks I'll get to find out just how well SD works, as hopefully by then I'll have my new injectors, topmount manifold, and monster Holset (what can I say, I'm a fan of cheap power) on to test out. It should be interesting to say the least, the turbo has a 9cm^2 T3 housing and flows a max of 68lb/min at higher pressure so it should be a quick spooling monster.

Ive been running SD now for about 6 weeks. The first couple of hours i was having alot of problems. Then I went to a 1:1 ratio above 100kpa but not below it. I then changed my RPM VE drastically.

I drove around for about 15 minutes today and have realized that tuning the speed density through the normal reflash method is a PITA. The car runs decent, but it still needs significant work.
I've also come to the conclusion that the stock ECU is bad ***... But the EVO community may want to consider refocusing their current efforts to a better tuning/logging front end. I never realized how spoiled I was on DSMLink until I started tuning other systems. Their method of putting the logging section as the primary focus is definitely the best method as 95% of what you do tuning is evaluating the datalog and then 5% making adjustments. Incorporating the tuning and the logging into 1 program makes a huge difference too.
For WOT tuning, the current system of offline flashing and secondary datalogging isn't that inconvient and hasn't really bothered me before. But trying to tune part throttle with the current ECUFlash and EVOscan system...well...not to hurt any feelings...but it sucks.

That's why we have DMA/LiveMap...just like DSMLink.
Also, as far as log analysis, use LogWorks. Very similar to DSMLink (actually I think it is even better). I think you will find it to your liking if you are used to DSMLink.
