Turning off the knock sensor

can anyone give me directions on how to disconnect the knock sensor in ECUflash? I have alot of phantom knock pulling all my timing..

Does anyone think that my lifter tick is setting off the knock sensor??

Any help is greatly apprecicated.

well you shouldnt be worried about turning the knock sensor off.. you should be worrid about getting rid of the phantom knock.. if you dont fix the problem its only gonna get worse..so you want to disable the knock sensor so it doesnt pull your timming.. dont you think its doin that for a reason?

Are you positive it's "phantom knock"? What timing are you trying to run?

I don't see lifter tick causing knock, not excessive knock anyway.

you dont have to turn it off. you can make it less sensitive and/ or change the load threshold were you want it "activated" again... ill look for the links now assuming you are 100% sure its phantom.

Set the knock threshold multiplier(not in front of me so I can't recall the name of the value) super high. I had to disable mine and went that route. Of course I am 100% sure it's my motor and not the tune that is causing knock, so I hope you are as well.

thanks for the replys..

1.) no my timing is perfectly fine... 3* at peak boost.. 20psi, and it always has been fine, except now my car knocks even when I rev it, standing still..

2.) I want to see if my car will still "knock" when the knock sensor is turned off, then I can determine if its phantom knock or not. I know what my motor feels like and how it pulls, Ive been tuning for over 2 years, Im not just going to shut off my knock sensor and say, sweet, fixed it!....

3.) I tried messing with the knock sensor filter maps, but nothing happened..

4.) It seems that my car starts to read the knock at 30% TPS..

5.) I can start in a gear (say 2nd or 3rd), and redline that gear, shift to the next gear, and the car pulls hard again, with no knock.. it seems like higher rpms dont see as much knock...

This problem came about randomly one morning when I started my car..

Ive done a boost test, checked and regapped my plugs, and changed the injectors back to stock.. (someone suggested it could be injector tick)

PLease help??

Im going to probably bleed the lifters next.. hopefully it works..

I tried that. I maxxed out the x-axis value (load?), to 420 or something.. but it had no effect..

and yes. i can cruise at any speed and not see any knock, as soon as a tip in throttle, it starts pulling timing, etc..

Im getting max knock counts.. 36.. If I go through the rpms without boost, it seems to not knock much at all.. I think its hearing my lifter tick!!

2-3* of peak timing, 20psi, redlining at 9-10* timing. (i have just turned the boost down when I changed back to stock injectors.)

My lifter tick is pretty loud.. I can hear it ticking through the rpms and inside the car with the windows shut. Could any thing be wrong with my valves and still allow the car to act normal besides the knock??

Im lost here..

..if I turn off the knock sensor, and my car still knocks and hesitates, then obviously I have something else wrong with my car than a faulty knock sensor or phantom knock...

Its under the middle of the intake manifold and is not the easiest thing to get to. I have never seen it come loose from the factory, only after builds upon reinstall.

If your lifter tick is audible that is your problem, there isnt likely to be a more obvious cause.
