FWIW ~FIC fit better than PTE...I have the FIC 1050 but looking at changing to RCs. With the temp swings no matter what I do it's like pushing on a bag of water. Tweak here, fubar there; tweak there, fubar elsewhere; temp change fubar everywhere. The hard starts with temp swings are really annoying. I guess they never expected the cold snap here and our E85 blend hated it.

I can understand how some have minor fitment issues with the PTE injectors, however their startup/drivability and idle are great. I have checked mine over the past few weeks since I was in the bay cleaning and porting a few things here or there and I still have 0 leaks, even after 4-5 months of continued E-85 use. I even pulled one just to make sure there wasn't any "gunk" on the spray nozzle side. It was perfectly clean.

The injector fit in perfectly for me, and with something that is dependable, cranks up on the first key turn, and can spray up to 1200cc for my green works perfect for me. I know that many like the benefits that come with the FIC and the ID, however do the benefits from those injectors outweigh some of the issues with tuning/startup?

So I guess my question is, why not go with the RC (if worried about fitment of PTE) or PTE? Scaling and latency values are readily available, they have been shown to keep up with many high HP/TQ builds, and to me just seem like less of a headache to set up...

I really enjoy, however reading the tuning forums and soaking up (very little capacity left in my brain ) the information in the ECUflash threads. Keep up the good work boys.

ID 1000s are my first experience with bigger aftermarket injectors, so I only have what others have left for feedback on PTE, FIC, RC etc... I kind of gambled on the "new fangled" injectors. I was mainly encouraged by some of the other people here that know what they are doing and post a lot of information.

I have sorted through the warm start fixes without luck and now I have it set up on SD. It started this morning first crank, I'll see what happens in a couple hours with warmish starts (the worst previously). The kicker is my SD set up is pretty much undriveable until warmed up. However if it solves my injector starts, I will switch my focus to address cold driveability. At least it seems people have had luck there.

I'm really tempted to try the FIC 1100s, I have been reading a lot of good reviews.

I've been shopping for injectors recently and was able to narrow it down to FIC vs RC injectors. They seem to get the fewest negative reviews of all the popular brands. Ended up going with RC because they're what my tuner prefers. Both seem to be pretty well understood. PTEs get good reviews as well, but they don't seem to have quite the following of RCs or FICs.

A year and a new built motor later FIC 1100's have been good to me. All of my issues w the ID 1000's instantly went away, start ups warm/cold. Got SD dialed in and the car runs awesome. Big FIC1100 fan now.

Can I ask why?

1050cc Injector Set (Low-Z)

1100cc Injector Set (High-Z)

1250cc BlueMAX Injector Set (Low-Z)

I'm trying to understand the High/Low Z difference in driveability as well as whether the BlueMax are considered FIC's premium line over the regular FIC injectors. If FIC1050 CC are good for my power needs is the only reason to go with them due to the lower price? The 1250 CC Bluemax are not much more; especially if they are better (better spray pattern?) than the non-bluemax. I also notice the 1150cc are more expensive; why? Are they newer technology?

Ted B mentioned this in a thread "Traditionally, the difference is that low-Z injectors are much faster than high-Z injectors. This is an important advantage when it comes to maintaining driveability at low IDC with high capacity injectors, and is why your car came so equipped. "

Here is another thread with some information.
