If you want to have lower values in your VE table, put in a lower value for injector scaling to give you more fuel. Or raise the VE values. I wouldn't bother with MAF scaling too much.

Just made the switch on 88591715...

one question for clarification..

During inital setup at idle and static 3000rpm rev, are we looking to get FEEDBACK or LTFT_LOW as close to zero as possible..

I ask because after 10mins of idling at full temps, mine are:

Code:
FuelTrim_Low	O2FeedbackTrim
-0.1953125	-12.109375
-0.1953125	-14.2578125
-0.1953125	-16.015625
-0.1953125	-17.96875
-0.1953125	-19.7265625
-0.1953125	-21.484375
-0.1953125	-23.2421875
I'm assuming LTFT_Low as the car seems to be idling just fine.

Hello,
I have an EDM evo 8 completely stock (turbo, inj, cams)

I switched to SD (96531706) last week and i have some issues :

1- Over 0.5bar at WOT car run too rich and sometimes had a fuel cut!

2- When lift off after revving (like 15 load ad RPM from 5000 to down 4000) i have 11 AFRMAP and -20*... -20* ok but AFR still 14-16 not 11.

3- lean tip-in...Async Accel vs TPS Delta like yours but nothing changes.

All these things work ok on MAF...and now with SD no!

Your starting setup for RPMVE and MAPVE not working for me...car run too lean at idle like 18 AFR.

Have some advices?

Launch Control ROM 96531706 for JDM Evo 8 mr ( 3 ecu pin )

Hi Evom Fan. I've just add in patch rom 96531706 to my JDM Evo 8 mr ( 3 ecu pin ). Everything goes fine. Smooth running. My problem is now at the Launch Control, seems doesn't work at all even setting in Global Launch map were there. Setting that I made is, Launch Hi Octane Fuel Map , Launch Hi Octane Ignition Map , Launch-Map TPS Threshold : 40% , Launch-Map Speed Threshold : 4 MPH, event I add in -17 retard at Launch Hi Octane Ignition Map from RPM 5250 to 6000 from Load 10 to end map, the Launch still not holding the RPM of 5500. I've tried to search the forum for xml or Hex sample map for me to patch and tyr, but most of the topic discussed without solution. I really need help here.tq

AEM 5 Bar help?

I am trying to get This 5 Bar dialed in and I am having issues. How do I scale this sensor with the Tephra Rom since their is no scaling table? I have the car idling, I just adjusted the RPM VE table so I can move the car in and out of the garage for now. I have done a ton of searching and found the correct scalings but I have no table to scale in this ROM. Would it be easier to just run a basic V7 ROM and add the SD tables and adjust from there?? Help would be appreciated. Thanks

We can't help unless you tell us
1. Which ROM ID (e.g. 96531706)
2. How familiar you are with ECUFlash and making the changes to add the 5 bar scaling

94171715, and very familiar

also found this patch posted by mrfred and applied it to my xml file but im not sure if it is correct or the same

<!-- ** Kavlico 5 bar ** -->
<scaling name="MAP 16bit" units="kPa" toexpr="x*0.6320-64.7" frexpr="(x+64.7)/0.6320" format="%.1f" min="0" max="550" inc="0.6320" storagetype="uint16" endian="big"/>

**Edit*** may have this figured out just need to test drive the car.

Guys need some help

I did a E8 ECU conversion in my Evo3 CE9A I have the tephra v7 96530706 with MAF loaded and working fine. But converted to speed density with GM 3 bar Map Sensor and IAT but when I load new map engine wont start, it cranks over but no fire. I have the immobilizer disabled in Pheripary

Any suggestions?
Im using 96533706-TephraMod-l2r99gst-dma-sd BTW

I'm on ROM 94171715. Omni 4 bar and SD. With the MAP VE table 1:1 and the preset RPM VE Table the car cold starts... warm starts.. and idles great at all temperatures..

take the car out light throttle goes lean out to about 18AFR and then recovers to normal.. at cruise it will do the same and bog the car to a stall until i increase TPS till about 35% then the car jolts forward.. making boost..

when I log LTFT (Low) i get -12.5 across all rpm ranges from 1k-3500... I lowered the MAP VE tables slightly for load values of 31-61 and the idle and start goes berzerk.

I'm searching for some clarity on the RPM and MAP tables. The instructions were lower RPM tables in the lean spots to bring LTFT back to zero?. but then right below there is an EDIT that says lower = less fuel...

car idled great on stock MAF and really drove great.. just wanted to try SD... would changing the injector scaling to a higher number help? Do i need to re-dial in the injectors due to the new intake setup?

03evo -

By the time you will finish reading all 17 pages ,testing and tuning. your issue will be gone.

First page has almost all the things covered which you are asking.

Time to tune ---------------

Wow! Thanks to everyone that's contributed to this!
I'm so amazed by what you guys can do, and can't wait to see what's next.

V7 is so smooth! Can't wait to finish dialing this in and make power!

you need the correct XML for your ROM ID.

Does the X axis in the fuel and ignition tables no longer refer to the computer 'load' value in evoscan? When looking at the fuel and ignition tables, I noticed that the unit has changed from 'Engine Load (%)' to 'Engine Load (LOAD kPa)'. When tuning MAF I associated this % load value with the Evoscan load or load2byte column and I'm wondering if I should now be looking at kPa read by the MAP sensor instead.
