The p codes correspond to a tranny/transfer case code. Iirc, the u0100 is a generic code set to indicate that its ecu has been flashed at some point.

What kind of no start. Cranks but won't start of does it just not crank at all?\

This happened to me once and I almost Crapped my self, I left the ignition on too long and it was cold outside, the battery Voltage went to low and the Rom didn't flash to the ecu correctly. When I went to start the car it wouldn't crank. So I charged the battery and tried again it cranked but wouldn't start, It would fire for just a second then cut. So I re flashed it and it worked again. Only it took longer and I was freaking out because I had just started playing with Ecus.

Sounds like the Immobilizer, check that you used your code on the new rom. I would start with that first

New Thought Check the fuses (trust me, it sounds basic but do it)

If You want I can give some quicker form of contacting me and I can help you tech down the problem (its what I do for a living).

Here is what the codes mean

U0100 Lost Communication With ECM/PCM "A"
P1870 Transmission Component Slipping/ Transmission Mechanical Transfer Case 4x4 Switch Circuit Failure
P1871 Transmission Mechanical Transfer Case 4x4 Switch Circuit Short To Battery

U0100 is a univeral SAE code. The other two are mitsu definitions.
P1870 and P1871 Mean that according to the computer theres a problem with the differential button, or the wires. You can check this but using the knowledge that you have flashed your computer right before these problems occured i would strongly suggest reflashing the ECu back to the Last working rom you had on it and seeing if the rom is the problem or its something else.
