Shift knock but only if i Shift fast
So going by the logs the computer is advancing the timing to 30deg when i shift fast and get back on it, so what ends up happening is Im at 150-160load at 5k and the ecu advances to 30 causing knock. But if I shift slow the timing is what is in the timing map. What would cause this?

Follow the timing path from redline back to the lower RPM of the next gear. Make that path a smooth transition. If its interpolating a lot from one cell to the next, you'll get the knock. It is kind of like a big circle from redline to 5-5.5k rpm. I tune a lot for 1/4 mile and this always happens an it always remedies it for me.
Here is a sample of what I mean. Make sure the blue path goes smoothly from your timing value at redline and trails back down towards the value you have at the beginning of the next gear (around 5-5.5k RPM usually). Be sure to smooth out the timing values in the vicinity of this 'loop' too so you don't have a huge timing variance from one cell to the next. The ECU hates to interpolate between two large timing values so quickly. Hope this helps.

Yes it can but it's best to minimize the items being logged at once. The more items being logged, the less lines per second will be recorded. In this case, for now, I would only log RPM, timing, 2 byte (or 1 byte) load and knock sum.

Ok so old thread I know but I didnt want to add clutter starting another. I am having the same fast shift knock problems. If I shift casually I get no knock but a fast shift I get knock up to 9 counts??? My timing jumps to 30+ degrees as the load drops to like 40 for a split second as I shift then drops back down to like 2 (low timing I know) Jot can you elaborate on this method? I cant see me having to draw the line all the way down from about 210 load to 40 and back up do I?
