Over boost problem ONLY on 4th gear onwards
Hi guys, i'm encountering an overboost problem ONLY on 4th gear. 1st, 2nd and 3rd all maintains boost but once i hit 4th gear at 6000rpm onwards boost starts to climb till almost 1.6 bar from a previous 1.2 bar.. I'm using FP red, stock cams and AVCR boost controller. Custom 02 Dump, 0.7 bar stock actuator, Custom 3 inch down pipe and stock exos and intake manifold. ETS 4 inch intercooler
Solenoid duty has been set to the minimum and i'm still facing over boost. It used to start overboosting from 5k rpm onwards but i managed to get it down. It still happens from 6k onwards though...
Any clue whats the problem?
PS: Its a JDM E9 RS on ralliart ECU.

I use 4th gear when I set the boost and after in 4th gear everything looks ok I make some smooth setup for the 3th.
If you set your car in 3th gear.....and you use a stock rom like ralliart rom...than you don`t the option to switch between log and high gear is a bit restricted.
On 6th gears cars I log boost also in 5th gear when I make the settings.
Depending of the car and the car purpose.
Rally cars are set in 5th gear for example with a 5500 rpm limit due the turbo restriction.

yes i use 4th gear to set boost as well... 1st - 3rd is fine, but 4th gear only from 6k rpm it starts to climb. i was told AVCR has a gear based boost control. but after playing with it so much, i cant figure out what is the setting that is wrong thats causing this over boost problem.

NE-point from 3.5k rpm with 500 increments up till 7k.
Solenoid duty 45%, 40%, 35%, 28% and 20% from 5.5k onwards.
Start duty % for 4th gear set at 0
Learn Gear set to ( X )
I'm a little lost at start duty % though. figured 0 is the safe bet.

You can definately start at 0 but if its overboosting only on that one gear try setting the start duty in that gear down in increments of 5. So start with -5, if its overboosting go to -10, etc. The start duty overrides the global setting for the duty cycle. Strange thing is, I have no idea how your overboosting with duty cycles that low. It seems like something else may be wrong here.

yeah the duty cycles are the lowest the AVCR can go already... and it only started to over boost from 6k onwards from 1.2bar - 1.6 bar at 6.5k rpm b4 i throttle off when my warn light comes on.
The rest of the start duties are at 8%, 5% and 2% - 1st 2nd and 3rd gear respectively. I'll definitely try setting negative start duty to see if it helps... Others suspect it might be a solenoid problem but since it holds stable till 6k rpm i doubt its solenoid either... =(
