I use my laptop only for tuning.

Its a Toshiba Satellite L305
2.2 GHz processor
2GB of RAM, 160 GB of hardrive
15.4 screen
$329 at Bestbuy

I used to have a HP Mini Netbook, but had these problems on it.
-Was way slow, even though was a 1.8GHz processor & 2GB of RAM
-screen resolution didnt go high enough to fit EVOscan charts and timing/fuel map. Also, didnt fit V7 BIGMAPS on the screen.

Has my engine sim software on it. I use it for some fairly aggressive maths.

MSI U110
10.1 screen
Intel Atom
1GB RAM
16 hour battery

Basically bottom of the barrel on processor speed and it does well enough. The BIGMAPS are horrible to look at on it though. The only thing I got this laptop for was tuning and then it's light so it's easy to take to school. The 16 hour battery kicks *** too. During school, I charge it like once a week.

On my home PC, I built it for heavy engineering software. 2 years ago, it was as bad as you could get for under $3k. Now it's a fecking dinosaur. Screw being on the cutting edge. I do want to throw a 6-core and 890FX based motherboard in it now though.

This is better you need actually... Just make sure everything is turned off except evoscan when logging... Programs, wifi, everything.... If it keeps crashing reformat it.

I'm using a macbook pro i7 now, but previously I had a Sony Viao pocket computer that was Intel 1.2 ghz and 1gb ram on xp sp2. Logged quicker than I needed with no problems.

Cheers!

I was wondering what you were doing to get Windows 7 to work Properly when using EVOSCAN. I was having issues when I was trying to get it to work(Driver Issues I think). I am in Afghanistan right now but I want to have the stuff I need when I get back.

I was using a Acer Mini Book (Too Slow), Dell Inspiron 9300 (Slow Logging) , and Finally bought a HP Laptop with Windows 7 to speed it all up(Never Got it to Connect and Log Properly). Mellon said that the logs were really slow even though I was only logging minimum data required.

Thanks,

Deak

I am on my Macbook Pro now, I might Install Windows 7 on this in the future.

Pc stuff evolves too dam fast. Mine is 4 years old now and it feels like a 90's IBM to me now haha.

It seemed to be an issue with corrupted drivers that I tried to fix but it wasn't working. I did reformat and reinstall. Hopefully things are gravy now but I'm not sure yet.

I just hate dells. Worst computers ever made, if I didn't get such a good deal on it I would have never bought it.
