P0125 - Yes another thread ...

I got this code after every reflash, when the car is warm and running during about 15-20 min...

VIII USDM ecu, with 96532706 rom.
- Rear 02 simulator is enabled
- Rear 02 heater is disabled (0009)
- Rear 02 heater cel enable is set to "0"
- FAA bit 1 is set to "1"
- FEA bit 15 is set to "0"

Maybe I'm doing something wrong ...

The car is an EDM Evo VI RS2, the Ecu is VIII USDM and rear O2 stuff is simply wired to nothing (no rear 02 on evo VI)

Cheers

P0125 - Insufficient Coolant Temperature For Closed Loop Fuel Control.

SWAG here but....

See if the temp sensor needs replaced.

OR....your temp sensor is different than the one in a newer evo, thus the volts it reads is different.

Thanks for your advice.
In fact I think it's ecu related, because there's no problems with the Evo VI ecu.
Maybe my settings are wrong ?

Will try to find if there's any difference between the 2 sensors (VIII and VI)

And .. sorry but what means "swag" ?

What is the effect of this DTC ? how the car runs with it ?

SWAG

Suspicious Wild *** Guess

It is possible that the temp readings need to mimic your VI.

Ok,

I did some logs and I think the sensor is correct. It gaves me 31°C at start up, then climbing to reach approx 80°C after 4 minutes warm up.

How can I reach the coolant temp value used for enter in closed loop mode in 96532706, in order to check what's happening ?

Usually on a IX ECU PO125 will pop-up after I tried to disable the rear O2 via periphery bits.

The PO125 will come when:

-IAT is less than -19.45°C (-3°F) at engine start and 20 minutes or more after starting engine, this heat sensor value is 20°C (68°F) or less.
-IAT values are between -19.45°C (-3°F) and -8.34 °C (17°F) at engine start, 5 minutes or more after starting engine and heat sensor value is 20°C (68°F) or less
-IAT greater than -8.34°C (17°F) at engine start and 2 minutes or more after starting engine, heat sensor value is 20°C (68°F) or less.

Check also the front O2 signal and see if the sensor is ok.

Could be also a bad front O2 sensor.....

Due the modifications of your car....could be also only a bad setup in periphery bits for this....

I will check IAT in place of coolant temp.
Would also log my front 02 sensor to see what I get

Please find below my rom configuration. I didin't put the tephra mod option table but rear O2 simulator is set to "1" (enabled).

I am curious that since you have an VI that 94170715 might be the better option for you as it is the "older" of the roms that we use in the US.

Port over your tuned stuff and nothing more into 94170715 and give it a shot.

I am willing to bet it will solve 90% of the issues you are having. The 9653 variant takes a tremendous amount of set up work to get it to work well with older cars (pre 2005), but works wonderfully on the newer years (post 2004).

Let me know if you want the 94170715 rom and xml. I will send it to you.

OK,
Since the Tephra V7 thread mention that 94170715 need a fix, I'll try while the new version will be available.

I'm still trying to get rid of this code on 96532706 I currently use.

I log LTFT, STFT and 02 sensor (request MUT 13).
Fuel trims are functionning (and BTW need some MAF scaling adjustements ...), but I'm not sure of what type of "reponse" I should have from the 02 sensor.

Find attached a sample of one log

I found that 9653 requires you to input your stock values for the MAF, ICSV, Idle and so on. My starting with all stock values in the tables, the car will run substantially better.

sorry to be quite dumb (), but you mean Evo 6 Rom values or values provided with the rom (USDM 260 I think) ?

I mean whatever values were in your original 6 rom. Put those values into the one you have flashed now.

I'll try this evening. Unfortunately Evo VI and Tephra 96532706 don't have all the same definitions for idle etc .. so I copy and paste what I can.

Basically, the way the car run is quite weird for me, It's due to my lack of evo ecu knowledge I think.

Due to the fault code, the car is runnin in open loop mode.
As I didn't tweak the fuel map (yet), it idles quite rich.
From my understanding, that's why I get STFT maxed out at 25% most of the time, LTFT Low at 4.8 % and LTFT mid at 12.6 % (and LTFT high stuck to 0 %).

The other "option" is that my front 02 sensor is dead, what do you think of this log ? (scale have to be divided by 100, most of the time it reads 0.02 or 0 v.
