No isc/bbk throttle body

I have a 92' Talon with comp. 101400 cams, 950 cc, 2.4l, bbk throttle body.

Does anybody have any tips for setting up idle with a bbk throttle body, no isc?

The ecu is set for open-loop.

throttle cable linkage adjustment on the I/M.

monitor your HZ/LOAD/AFR/RPM and tune those areas correctly to maintain your 14.7 afr. don't go over 50hz and make sure your TPS registers closed after your adjustments. should be pretty streetable.

also, make sure your injectors are properly scaled. brand and specs are needed. along with that, how is your airflow setup? VTA/RECIRC BOV? big intake? IC/PIPING/Intake Manifold/etc. those make a huge difference.

are you running an EVO ECU? if not, throw this post in the other section or on a DSM specific forum.

i have a BBK with ISCV and ISC. it's funny how they don't have idle screws/but it idle's great lol....

good luck.

Sorry about that. Car is running a 9653 rom on speed density. I guess that bit of info should have been included.

Runs a BJ's intake manifold along with a air to water IC. I have a Ford isc motor I could put on the BBK throttle body and see if I am able to dial in a better idle.

All I was looking for was people who are running throttle bodies with no isc motor and only using the butterfly valve to set the idle. Tips and tricks they used to set there idle and what there TPS value is at idle. Mine is around 17%.

haha no worries.

sorry dude, i'm using the iscv. i even have the fiav (mistakedly said ISC in previous post) with coolant lines connected on the bbk/3 vacume nipples capped.

other than that, it will be painful to get the idle right with that setup, I have a ported a polished 2g head, 1g intake manifold, recirced 1g bov, ic piping, 3" maf pipe, 20g, 625cc injectors, 9653 v7 MAF, and it idles beautifully/very amazed. some minor maf scaling/tuning to get it there but the FIAV and ISC were necessary.

my TPS value is about 12% at the closed position with a DSM TPS (non-1990). it actually reads just like the EVO TPS:

Code:
LogID	TPS	RPM	AirFlow	O2Sensor	WideBand	Load1B	AFRMAP
1	12.16	750	37.5	0.12	14.74	42	14.7
2	12.16	750	37.5	0.70	14.74	42	14.7
3	12.16	750	37.5	0.27	14.74	42	14.7
4	12.16	781.25	37.5	0.49	14.74	42	14.7
5	12.16	750	37.5	0.14	14.74	43.2	14.7
6	12.16	750	37.5	0.12	14.74	42	14.7
7	12.16	781.25	37.5	0.12	14.78	42	14.7
8	12.16	750	37.5	0.72	14.78	43.2	14.7
a problem i had was that the BBK TB was not closing all the way/so i had to tension the spring a little more. this would cause high idle pretty badly. it was ONLY cured by popping the hood and physically applying pressure the throttle plate linkage towards the closed position. even having the throttle 'slap' closed wouldn't fix it.

i guess for you it would be timing/fuel/and mechanical linkage. i would suggest to run the FIAV and ISC to make the setup streetable. what's the car doing anyways?
