HKS 264/264 Fuel/Timing Tune
Hey everyone,
I just reverted back to my stock map and would like to know if there are any initial adjustments I can make for HKS 264/264 cams? Also are there any general trends with these cams I know these aren't very aggressive so I'm guessing maybe just advancing timing slightly and adding some fuel at idle? Thanks!

Aaah I see you've been around a while. In general these cams make the most power before 6k. The 272's make peak power right around 5.5/6k RPM and the 280s even further out. The 272s and 280s make more power because they allow the engine to breathe better whilst spinning faster. The 264s however make great power right while the (stock) turbo is spooling up and thus a big bunch of torque.
AMS's cam test shows the old school 272's, although not making the most power by far, they made the fatest curves with gains everywhere over the RPM band over the stock cams and gave nothing up on spool.
I rock the stock cat back, (DP+hi flow cat with OEM muffler and mid pipe) I go for as much torque down low as possible with everything pretty much shutting down by 6k RPM. Agressive timing, e85, Tephra's V7 gear dependant boost control, speed density, 25PSI on e 85, 22 for 93 .Bad for drag times, feels awesome to DD
Are you on 008, 015 or V7?

I'm on the 008 ROM basically looking for some key points on tuning the ignition map for these cams, I was thinking of advancing the timing slightly at idle load cells for now and then do some logged runs where I continue to increase timing until knock arrives as many people have tuned this way.

I started a similar thread and got minimal response but people that did provided great info. I was told to actually pull a few degrees up top due to increased airflow and ve and add a little fuel. This was recommended for GSC s1's which are very similar being 268/268. Any other input would be great for the op and myself!
