EvoECU and 4g94 engine
I've got a similar question to this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...ngs-4g93t.html
I will be flashing the Evo Rom shortly, and have heard many many different things about the knock settings in the evo vs the lancer. from what I know, the most reliable source tells me:
The stock lancer settings ought to be
single gain = 3
triple gain = 5
all 3 knock multipliers should be = 18
The thread above says otherwise, and I really don't know what the safest way to do this thing is. Plenty of guys have used the Evo ecu with stock settings, just changed maf/injector/idle/fuel/timing settings(and sometimes seeing crazy high knock numbers, not typical with their previous stock rom)....so what do you guys think. Should I adjust the knock settings at all? should i set them to what i think the base lancer is? should i go with the most sensative values and then work my way down ? If so, is the higher the number in knock multiplier mean more sensitive? or is it lower? also, same question about single and triple gain, higher means more or less sensitive?
Thanks for your help

Yeah, and the question is 2 parts.
1 is the "should we see more or less knock in certain areas due to differences in settings"
2 is the "Does anyone really know the true lancer knock settings for our Rom"...roadspike is the only guy i know whose torn into the lancer rom a bunch, and he's where i got my info. I pm'ed him to make sure he got it all right, and to see if he thought those exact settings should be used with the evo rom...but he hasn't responded to my pm thus far, and he sold his evo i think, so he's seldom on here.
Someone's got to know at least the sensitivity and gain questions, like what they do as far as more or less detection of knock. The use of an evo rom is the biggest and best tuning solution we have, but the knock portion has plagued many a 16g base lancer.
