tuning injectors w/ no O2 feedback and on SD?

Im helping a buddy get a good cruise tune and a safe low boost wot tune before he drives to get it dyno tuned in a couple weeks.

This past weekend I help him finish putting in the following:
HX35, manifold, custom elbow/downpipe (no O2) w/ QTP cutout
HKS272s ( he had them laying around from his last one...)
adj gears
FPR
PTE 1000s
big air intake/filter

Since we were switching to SD at the same time as everything else, and he wasnt going to have any O2 sensors, I told him to just leave the stock injectors in, we would get the cruise and low boost dialed in, then once we were happy, toss the injectors in and adjust as needed. Well...he already had the fuel rail, FPR, and injectors in when I showed and didnt want to uninstall them.

So I grabbed some scaling and latencies from here, and got the car up and running with some assumed changes to my SD maps. Couple tweaks and its now idling and cruising between 14.4-15.3, which Im happy with. Hot/cold starts are fine too.

Basically, I just want to know if anyone has any suggestions as to what to look for to make sure Im not just tuning SD around bad (not saying these are bad) scalings/latencies.

these are the scalings I used

Put the front O2 sensor in the car. There is no excuse not to have it there and is required for STFT.

I ran mine for 3 months with no O2 feedback w/ no issues.

I may see about setting it up for O2 feedback with the WB, though. Its right at the bend in front of the oil pan, so it should work.

But even with O2 feedback, how to tell if the problem lies in the SD maps or injector maps?

The WB is about 8-10" from the turbo outlet. Should be fine. His last evo had it in the same place for many miles and lots of boost. Mine will be there too at some point. For O2 feedback, you want it as close as possible. But not stock O2 close or it will fry.

I run mine w/o the front O2 and force full-time open loop and it's fine; my fuel map is actually pretty close to actual wideband readings based on my injector scaling/latencies and tuning of SD maps.

this one is real close to the maps as well (mine too). It seems to be perfectly fine with the scalings I got from Colt4g63's post above. He's saying it has started fine for the last 2 days. We tweaked it a little more tonight, but mostly low boost...and a sporadic 25psi haha
