knock control tables - which ?
when false knock is confirmed, how to lower knock sensor sentitivity by still maintaining protection against detonation ? which knock control tables to alter and by how much ? talking about 96530706 v7 rom if it matters

On this ROM I had to increase "Knock Multiplier - Low RPM" to 18 and Mid RPM to 20. That stopped my knock sensor going nuts all the time. I had first verified that it wasn't real knock using det-cans.

thanks for reply dparrish
can't get rid of 10-20-30 counts of knock on cruise/spool-up area. tried different fuel, different knock sensors, lowered timing but nothing changed. that pretty much assumes me that it's a false knock
anyway I'll not touch anything until I finally confirm it via det cans, but want to know in advance what to do then

That's high. If you're lowering timing, make sure you don't just lower it in the affected area, try to smooth out the drop. A sudden change in timing will cause the knock sensor to go off.
Is it always showing knock in the same load area at the same RPM or is it all over the place. If it's in the same place, it's much more likely to be real knock, but if it's still showing when you run high octane fuel + octane booster, then it's less likely to be real.
You can also try adding more fuel in the knock affected areas, and in the area *before* the knock appears, so the combustion chamber doesn't get so hot.
