Inconsistent back to back pulls, too much timing?

I finally got my wideband installed and got to tuning. Had a couple of bumps at first, but with feedback from the forum, I've ironed those out or so I thought. The car was pretty responsive to the timing changes I made. I was seeing pretty much zero knock to an occasional 1 count of knock. So I decided to try and lean the car out, a bit, it was seeing from 12 afr dipping to 10.2 at redline. Now seeing 12 tapering to 11 by redline. 23psi tapering to 19psi

Car Specs 03 Evo VIII
Stock 8 turbo
K&N cone filter
mbc (ams or boostvalve)
3" TBE (with test pipe)
Lower Intercooler Pipe
3" ETS Intercooler
evo IX Diverter Valve
Innovate LC-1

these are back to back runs. red and green show 0 to 1 occasional counts of knock, and then the blue knock all over the place 7-9 counts in some spots. WTF?

I'm wondering if I'm at the timing threshold for 93oct. I know the AFR isn't prefect, it's not refined yet, but I thought the results were interesting.

I'm thinking pull out a 1 degree, and smooth air fuels so that it's consistent and smooth, then try turning the boost up to 24psi and see what happens.

Any Suggestions?

Make sure you always use the same stretch of road in order to account for load changes and also you don't have anything loose which might trigger the knock sensor ie phantom knock.

Nothing is loose, and I've been doing it on the same stretch of road in hopes to build consistency.

I was thinking heat soak as well, but with the 3" ets I would think that three pulls with a couple min of 65 mph cruising in between that it wouldn't be effected. hmm?

even with an efficient inter-cooler, there will still be some heat soak, only the threshold will be lower and spikes will be managed better.

First pull will always be cooler, even with a few minutes driving at speed in between. The motor can store an enormous amount of heat.

Try increasing the time between pulls. If the knock goes away then pull timing. The next question would be whether your setup should be handling the heat better.

I had the same thing, you need to do a good tuning in your mixture, an consistent mixture, (13,5)-(13)-(12,8)-(12,5)-(12)-(11,8)-(11,5)

It seemed like it was making pretty good power considering my mods, a stock 8 turbo, 93 octane, and 23psi. I'm going to take a degree out, and go and see what happens after I make a couple back to back pulls. If knock disappears I'll try to get the A/F dialed in to go smoothly from 12 to 11 by redline. If successful then I'll try turning up the boost a little more and see what the difference is.

Alright so I pulled 1 degree of timing, and here are the results.

Looks like consistency is back, and not bad hp and torque!

I think I'll try turning the boost up tomorrow.
