Correct.
The better way of putting it is that these days, your ROM is the program that runs on the computer in your car. We call it a rom because it is written to flash chips. The ECU (computer) never writes to these chips. Only the factory and dealer will change the ROM. (Or us.... )

I've compared the "known" table data between 2010 and 2011 SST ROMs (56900010 vs. 58020005), and they all match.
Ditto for 2010 and 2011 5MT ROMs (56890010 vs. 58010005).
So as far as the "usual suspect" tables go... no surprises jumping out so far.
The code has moved around a little, so there's been some tinkering by Mitsu internally. Can't tell you what, though. Could be new code for oil slick, submarine mode, machine guns... I guess it just depends what factory options are available on the 2012!

I think they just add in new lines of code to mess with us. They don't want us to have a generic 1 rom for all Evo X's.
