Aem failsafe boost sensor in Evoscan

Don't know if anyone is familiar with the new aem failsafe wideband but it is an awesome unit. Wideband and boost in one, with datalogging and analog output for both afr and boost.

Well I was wondering, can I take the analog boost output of the AEM, and run it to the MAP input signal wire to the ecu so I can log boost in Evoscan?

According to the AEM instructions, the equation for the analog boost output is:

PSI= (10*volts)-16

So I would just change the formula for the map sensor in evoscan to this: (10x)-16
?

Guess I'll just do it and see what happens.

Tried it out, without changing the map scale in ecuflash the engine throws a map low voltage code and engine dies. I didn't think the ecu actually used the map input for running the engine but guess I was wrong.
So I guess I will have to use an unused input on the ecu to log.

Just an update on this so if anyone ever wants to do this.

The AEM failsafe gauge can not be read in evoscan via a com port as its not a simple rs232 converted signal like other gauges (since it has boost/datalogging/afr).
So this means you will have to run the two analog output wires from the gauge (afr/Boost) to some unused inputs on the ecu.

You can then log the analog inputs of the ecu and use the formulas to get the correct reading, these are the formulas that I found work pretty accurately for me:

For AFR I USE:

((0.01952*x)*(2.375))+7.5625

and for BOOST I use:

((0.01952*x)*10)-15.4

The boost equation is not very accurate in the vacuum region for some reason but is very close once you start hitting boost.

New evo scan user here.

What pins on your ecu did you end up using? I'm in the middle of this install as well and need to log the readings.

Also, what code did you use in evoscan to tell evoscan what pins to look for the signal on?

Where did you get the pins for the connector? Ill need to get a couple of those as well.

Thanks for any help.

I used the rear O2 sensor input for the wideband afr, and used Mrfred's Front O2 sensor patch so that I could tap into the front O2 sensor input for Boost.

Could I just use this with the evoscan V2.9...

I hadn't seen this before. Would it work with the signal output from the AEM failsafe wideband?

That pretty cool, first time I've seen that.

Looks like it would work great.

Anyone else out there with experience with this? I love how easy this looks, but want to know before I spend another $60 on something that wasn't made for this.

Well what your doing is exactly what they made this thing for so you shouldn't have any problems. If you want to make 100% sure then just contact them and tell them what you wanna do.

The formula to log boost in evoscan is:

x*(5/255)*10-16
