Evo 7 Ecu in Evo 4

Hello everyone, I'm using Evo 4 and I want to swap Evo 7 ecu. A friend of mine is selling Ecu MR985180, is it the correct ecu ? Secondly I need to rewire few wires, I got some information of rewire please confirm me is it correct or not

1- Swap cables 8 and pin 22 fuel pump relay with AC control relay
2- Disconnect pin 87 AYC/ACD signal
3- Connect Cable 20 to pin 32 Rad Fan Hi to condensor fan Hi
4- Connect Cable 21 to pin 34 Rad fan lo to condensor fan lo
5- Connect cable 6 Secondary air system to pin 53 of Evo 7 ECU
6- disconnect pin 91 or rewire for IC sprayer manual operation
7- Evo 4 only disconnect pin 40 and ground cable or connect to pin 92 sensor ground
8- Evo 4 only disconnect pin 33 if alternator is not charging battery

I have been reading about changing ROM, can someone please highlight this also ?

Thank You

No need to rewire the IC sprayer, 4 has only manual spray.
You need to attache a wire to pin #79 to be able to flash the ECU.
The 4 has smaller 510cc injectors, so, you'd need to install 560cc injectors (Evo 5-9) or to rescale the 4's injectors in the 7's rom.

depending on which 7 the ecu is from id leave 1 as is for the min when you have the rest swapped , ign on open evoscan then actuators and hit run fuel pump if the pump runs all ok if a/c fan runs then swap 8 and 22

6- not necessary as what was said above
7- hot cat light only applies to evo4 ecu just remove the bulb from the dash cluster
8- only applies to fitting evo6 ecu in a 4

90550001 is the best supported evo7 rom

you will need to disable the immobiliser in the rom also
disable fr o2 sensor heater(evo4 has 2 wire only) /
turn off egr ( no hardware in evo 4 )
turn off rear o2 (No hardware in a 4 also not fitted to some evo7 )

3 plug! This could be either a 7 GT-A ECU, it will not work or an 8's ecu, it would work if u perform all the needed swaps. Can you open the plastic casing & check the main chip # ?

I suggest you install 5/6 ecu & you won't have to do any of the swaps, just a wire to pin 79 to be able flash the car.

MR560648 is the part number for an evo 7 ecu with 4 plugs.

That ecu number comes up as evo 7 GTA. I wouldnt bother with it.

I highly recommend using the evo 7 ecu, many more benefits over an evo 5 or 6 ecu.

I just contacted my friend he said it's 4 plug ecu, should I go for this ecu or should I wait for MR560648 ?

@op

you can use 5/6 ecu plug in with 560cc (evo5 on injectors) and a wire to pin 79 for flashing and then check its charging .

or evo7 4 plug/evo8 (260 uk) 4 plug /evo8 usdm 4 plug

all the latter need wires swapping and modded rom

As already said this is for an Auto Evo 7 GTA would not get it for anything other than another auto car.

I am investigating this exact ECU on my car and it appears to have the Evo9 automatic Wagon Rom 88780004 in it.
