CEL after ecu swap

recently installed my evo 7 ecu/afm/injectors into my evo 4 and swapped most of the pins needed but yet the check engine light is still on? when evo 4 ecu/injectors/afm were in the light wasn't on. what do i look for?

the pins I changed were: cable 20 moved into 32 pinslot and 21 into 34 pin-slot. also disconnected pin 40.

first start car from cold, then about 10-15 seconds check engine light comes on and stays on.

That's probably the EGR fault code, since 4's don't have EGR, you need to disable that in the rom.

swap pins 6 and 53

disconnect pin 87

add wire and pin to 79 to allow you to flash the ecu

put 16d0 in periphery 1 turns off o2 heater cel ( evo4 has 2 wire sensor only )
put 8889 in periphery 2 ( disables egr and associated others you dont need )

Cool thanks swapped a few more pins and it improved the idle (was kinda missing a bit on idle) and am going to plug ecu in next week

is removing pin 87 really necessary?
