AEM UEGO wideband logging problem in evoscan

Hi guys
I just installed an aem uego in my evo. Works perfect but when I try to log its via the serial to usb converter in evoscan it reads 14.7 or 16 or sumwhere there and gets stuck. I think it reads the first figure and then just gets stuck. Any idea how I can fix this? I was using Innovate LC1 via same serial to usb wire and it worked great till the o2 sensor crapped out. My evoscan version is 2.6.

Thanks

1. Ensure you have the appropriate wideband selected in Evoscan under Wideband Tab at the top, and that you're using the correct com port.

2. Make sure you're using requestID WDB and eval is x

3. If still same result, make sure you're using the correct cable off the back of the EUGO. Some models have two output wires; Blue is the correct one ( serial wire ), White is 0-5V if you want to wire directly into the ECU.

4. If you've ensured all of the above, I'd place a multimeter on the end of the blue wire and ensure it's displaying voltages correctly.

You can also check the data from windows utilizing AEM's guide below ( If you have hyperterminal ).

Two wires need to be connected to a RS-232 serial port. The BLUE wire from the AEM
UEGO Gauge shall be connected to Pin #2 (RX) on the serial port for receiving data.
Pin # 5 (GND) on the serial port shall be grounded. If a standard 9-pin serial cable is to
be cut instead, the (RX) wire is typically RED and the (GND) wire is typically GREEN.
However, this should be confirmed with a continuity tester before attempting.

Use HyperTerminal for testing the data stream. This software is found on most PCs. To
find HyperTerminal go to: Start | All Programs | Accessories | Communications |
HyperTerminal. Name the New Connection and click OK. Set the COM port to the one
being used and click OK.

Bits Per Second = 9600
Data Bits = 8
Parity = None
Stop Bits = 1
Flow Control = Hardware

Verify the settings above and click OK. When power is supplied to the AEM UEGO
Gauge, AFR (or Lambda) data will be displayed, as shown below

I was using a cheap DB9 to usb converter on my uego and it eventually crapped out on me. I went to micro-center and bought a nice RS232/DB9 to usb converter cable (for like $40) and it has worked perfect ever since. This adaptor came with its own disk with the drivers and all. A lot higher quality. Just something to consider. But yeah, measure voltage changes from the blue wire to ground and make sure its fluctuating first, if it is then you need a new/better converter.
