Tactrix USB problem - The cable is broken..

I have serious problem with tactrix cable..
The cable is broken at usb side.. I must keep the cable in angle to connect with laptop.

What choice I have?
Can I fix it alone and how?

Is it better to go to electronic specialist to replace-resolder all the cable from the beggining or I can just cut the half cable and connect a new usb cable alone?

I'm assuming it's a 1.3 connector? just cut & attach a new USB end.

what foxbat said. if your super carefull with an exacto chisel blade you can get the obd end apart and just solder a new cable in using the same color code. i have done it with every 1.3 cable i have owned.

Sounds like you're dealing with a 1.3 Openport, but in case anyone with an Openport 2.0 has a broken USB connector, you can contact Tactrix for repair. If you're outside the USA with a broken Openport 2.0, it might more sense to contact a local computer repair shop rather than spend the money on shipping, but the important part is to use a new USB connector and not just solder on a bent connector.

We haven't made the 1.3 since 2008 so we no longer carry parts for those.
